Strength training is;
Rewarding, challenging and enjoyable. And that's all it should be. Reward yourself for becoming a stronger person mentally and physically, be challenged by setting high standards for yourself and trying your hardest to achieve them (pure effort), lastly, enjoy it, taking things seriously is one thing but remember why you are training! You WANT to because it's making you a better person💪💪

STRENGTH TRAINING (lifting heavy weights) has been a part of my life for 8 years. It is one of the most satisfying method of training in my opinion.
There are plenty of people who think it's not for them or are in fear of injury. Lifting IS for EVERYONE as long as you have a qualified Trainer to make sure that you are lifting correctly and within your capability. I have so many people start training with the intension of lifting a few weights here and there but absolutely love it after a few weeks.
You can do it for yourself - measure progress objectively in a motivating environment,
or you can compete in weightlifting/powerlifting.

How does personal training work? Part 1.

Personal training is more about the person then the training at the start. Understanding your goals and highlighting why these goals mean so much to you.
Is it that you want to be healthier (broad term)? Or is it that you want that one hour 3 times per week where you can de-stress, meaning a healthier work-life balance.

Is it that you want to be fitter? Or is it that you want to prove to you and others that age is just a number and you can always improve your health? You will do Squats and Deadlifts for eliminating back pain through lifting with correct technique. You will complete demanding endurance workouts for building heart/lung capacity, improving your quality of life and confidence.

Is it that you need that extra push for your competitive spirit?
Personal training sets out challenge after challenge through short term and long term targets. You will always want more and more so through pairing up with a trainer, you will always have something to aim for.

After finishing my Honors Bsc Degree in Fitness Professional

from IT Tralee, my goal as a Trainer is to make getting strong, fit and healthy as simple as possible. No tricks or shortcuts or secrets. Straightforward advice that has been proven to work in both diet and exercise.

I have trained myself for 8 years now and practiced many methods. Bodyweight training, athletics, field sports and Olympic weightlifting to name a few. I like to combine many styles of these but will also have the main focus in mind depending on the goal.

I have tried many methods of eating for both performance and body composition. Macro counting, low carb, bulking, cutting, intermittent fasting to name a few. A mainly whole food, plant based ticks all categories for me, healthy, highly nutrient dense and fulfilling.

There are many fads and information out there, some great and some not so great. I strive to give the best information I have to anyone who asks. This is what I have been doing for 5 years and I love it. Working with Maeve Frawley and alongside many great coaches, gym owners and other professionals has expanded my knowledge and experience greatly. There are very positive people in our industry who deserve huge respect. I hope to join them.

My clients/fitness class goers are very important to me and I will continue to give my best and most honest effort. I have learned as much from them as they have from me, which makes this job very special.
