🏊♂️ **A big pool project, 400 bags and 8.4 tonnes later…**
We completed a major upgrade to our pool filtration system today, replacing our existing filter media with **AFM® (Activated Filter Media)**.
AFM is a high-performance filtration media designed to improve water quality by filtering very fine particles from the water, while also helping to reduce the build-up of bacteria and biofilm within the filters. The result is more effective filtration, improved water clarity and a more efficient pool water treatment process. 💦
At the centre of this project was Sean Connell of Leisure Excel.
Sean put an enormous amount of work into this project long before the first bag arrived — researching, planning and coordinating the changeover and overseeing the work throughout.
Having someone with Sean’s level of knowledge— and who is always willing to pick up the phone, offer advice or roll up his sleeves when needed — is something we genuinely appreciate. We’re very lucky to be able to call on his expertise on an ongoing basis.
Thank you, Sean, for the time, care and effort you continue to give us. It certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. 👏
Then there were the people who discovered that a “pool filtration upgrade” was actually code for an 8.4-tonne strength and conditioning session… 😂💪
A massive thank you to Sean T, Conor, John, Jake and Barry, who tackled 400 bags of AFM at 21kg each.
That’s 8,400kg of media moved by hand — so we’re counting this as staff wellbeing, strength training and pool maintenance all rolled into one! 😅
