🏆 The Twinning Cup 🏆.

The first ever game of the Twinning Cup took place yesterday in Athlone between Tipperary Town & Country Pétanque/Boules Club. And Cavan Pétanque club. This was the inaugural game, a new format and collaboration between 4 clubs, two Irish clubs and their respective French twin town and their Pétanque clubs Parthenay and Juanay. Our French leg will be in France in September to see who will be crowned the Twinning Cup champion 🏆

Great team spirit, plenty 🌞 sunshine, plenty sunblock and super shots, Cavan PC emerging the round 1 winners.

A big thank you to Billy and Sylver and the Cavan club.

We held our annual Christmas Cracker Triples event at our new Petanque ground at the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre. This year we had Ballina/Killaloe, Rebelspetanque Cork, Clashmore/Kinsalebeg Pétanque Club, Limerick PC, Cahir Pètanque Club and a few Dublin clubs. We are delighted with our new ground. This was our forst competition on it. A big thank you to Cllr Andy Moloney, Breda Bailey, Paul O'Callaghan of the Canon Hayes RC and Tipperary County Council for their continued support. Also a very big thank you to Stevie O Donnell for paying a visit and getting the word out.

It's another Cracker!!

On an extremely wet and windy Saturday last, we hosted the Munster InterClubs competition. The annual event is a get together at end of summer for the Munster brethren to meet, greet and flash their skills. And boy, were their skills tested by the weather if nothing else. Unfortunately Tipperary town didn't fare so well on the home turf. Waterford PC came out the Victor's. Plenty of tea, coffee and delicacies kept everyone happy depsite the conditions. Well done one and all.

James Ardiente and Paddy Collins represented the club in the National IPA Doubles at Bayside Boules Club Dublin on 03 Aug last. Won 4 of 5 first round games, coming 2nd in the group, qualifying for the semis. Unfortunately, beaten by Cavan, the better team in the semis, as consolation coming in 3rd overall. A great first venture into IPA doubles and proud of their achievement overall.

Tipperary town and Country held it's open day on the 27th July. There was a great turnout, the weather in our favour and great craic had by all those present on the day. A few boules thrown, lots of excitement and a few competitive spirits emerged. A big thank you to the John and Liam and gang from the Cahir club for their support on the day, Breda Bailey of the Canon Hayes Recreation centre, Tipperary County Council and Age and Opportunity Ireland and CatherineFogarty from Tipperary Mid West Radio. All Welcome to come along and have a go, Thursdays at 1830hrs on the running track.
