Throwback to 10 years ago when I started out with a massage bed, 1 client for 6 months and no clue where me or my business would end up 🫣
My life consisted of working during the day to pay the bills and working every evening to get my business off the ground. Weekends consisted of college, study and practice, gaining as much experience as possible. Since starting my business 10 years ago so much has changed but the end goal always remained the same.
Neuromuscular Therapy and Reflexology was where I started, helping people to move better and feel better! Today I take so much pride in doing the same through the power of Pilates!
So far there’s been some challenges & sacrifice’s but mostly it’s been a truely amazing journey & I can’t wait to see what the next 10years bring… (without another pandemic 😃😷)

Can anyone guess who’s hoof this is?

Why Pilates? 🤔

When someone attends a class for the first time I often hear things like ‘I’m not flexible’ ‘Iv no coordination’ ‘my core strength is awful’ and my response is ‘you’ve come to the right place’!

You don’t have to be fit, flexible, Co ordinated or strong to start Pilates.
By starting Pilates and keeping it up consistently (once a week) you will get to all those places in time.

Remember that everyone has to start somewhere so if you come to a class and mess up the breathing or feel like you have no clue what you are doing then don’t worry about it… your not the first person to feel like that and you won’t be the last. With time, patience and practice you will feel your body getting stronger each week.
You will feel your muscles loosening and have better movement after every class.
You will feel better in body and mind after just one class.
You will also have less pain (this is why most people do Pilates).

There are many reasons why you should choose to start Pilates!

For me, the reason I started Pilates was to understand how it can help injuries and manage pain. Once I realised the power of Pilates I had to help others in the same situation. All the other benefits came as an added bonus!!

This last week I have really noticed huge improvements across all of my classes 🤩Everyone is getting stronger, more flexible and moving more efficiently.
Consistency is key!!
To each and every person coming through the studio door each week, well done and thank you for your dedication and willingness to try every movement thrown at you 👏🏻👏🏻 (also thank you for allowing me to take pictures with no warning before class) 😜
These pictures are from my mixed level class this evening and they were on 🔥 🔥

After a long break (thanks to the pandemic 😖) I finally got to finish my advanced teacher training this weekend. I have pushed my body to limits which I both loved and hated but always felt empowered by learning something new & challenging and asking my body to move in ways it never has before. I feel stronger (and very sore) and very excited to share some of these exercises with some of my classes. I am always amazed by how clever and different the pilates method is when it comes to moving the body and healing

A weekend well spent with family!Beautiful Wicklow 😍 & thank you for making our stay so enjoyable ♥️

Hi there 👋🏻

My name is Natacha and I am the owner of Pilates by Bodyworks.

Im an instructor in both Reformer & Mat Pilates which you probably already know so here are a few things you may not know about me 👇🏻😃👇🏻

✨I played rugby for Kilkenny LRC & Leinster development squad.
Being from Tipp and a Munster rugby household it’s not something I share too often 🙈
Loved playing the game and met some lifelong friends along the way!

✨I live in a mobile home and have done for the last 4years. It’s warm and cosy most of the time but during the winter months it can be tough going!
On the frosty mornings I can get dressed in record breaking time 🥶

✨I am the owner of a Jack Russell who was paralysed about 3 years ago for some unknown reason. It was a long stressful road but he’s happily trotting around the place getting into lots of trouble now… the legs came back to almost full use but the bladder and bowel are still unpredictable 🐶💩

✨I’m terrified of birds! Have a full on fear of getting my hair pulled out and eyes poked out by birds. Walking through the square in Waterford can be pretty embarrassing… ask my other half 😜

✨I played on the Ballingarry camogie teams that won 2 county finals many years ago now. Those memories will stay with me forever ♥️🇱🇻

✨I love to jive 💃 At any wedding or party you will see me on the dance floor being spun and thrown around the place like a tornado 🙌🏻
I have no idea what I’m doing but I love it anyway 😂

I love this visual! Thanks for posting
To my reformer groups… think about what’s happening with the exercise ‘hug a moon’ and now watch this video again 🤩

Long Spine!
In this evenings mixed level class the girls went through the exercise for the first time!
The movement is much harder then it looks but they nailed it!
There are more springs to deal with in the exercise which makes it difficult to stabilise and control the carriage at the same time.
The helps to improve flexibility of the spine & h/strings while also improving mobility of the hips and spine. Core strength is needed to control the spinal movement back to the carriage and there’s lots of strength work on the h/strings & adductors (inner thighs) as the straps are pulled back down towards the footbar. A challenging but fantastic exercise for the body.
Thanks .coleman for allowing me to take the video… although you didn’t get much of a choice in the matter I still appreciate it 😜
