Well done to Garvan and John O who completed the Jailbreak Triathlon in Cobh on Sunday . Both lads putting in great displays. John O was unlucky to puncture at start of cycle but after a swift change he flew along the course.

We had a few members out today taking on the 13km challenge in Hell N Back in Wicklow . Well done all.

This weekend we had a host of Athletes head for Triathy . In the TA100 we had 7 athletes toe the line. First back was Seamus Duggan in a blistering time of 4.34. Next up was Niall Hackett in a brilliant time of 4.56. Then Michael Dowling in a time of 5.05. Garvan Wickham in 5.56 (Fastest swim in age group) . Sean Reidy 6.01. John O Brien 6.03 . PJ Collins (DNF) after stomach issues half way through run.

In the Olympic we had
Aaron Kennedy with a Brilliant time of 2.00 .

In the sprint we had.
Larry Stapleton at 1.19 and 3rd in age group 🥳🥳. Next was Danny Lawlor at 1.24. Just behind him was Robert O’ Connell at 1.25. Then Gary Quirke at 1.35

Then in the Tri a Try :
We had Veronica Geoghegan finishing in a time of 1.17 and getting 2nd in her Age Group 🥳. Also we had TJ Crowe finishing in 1.24 in his first Triathlon .

Absolute great day for the club with so many athletes smashing their events.

So the dust has just about settled on what was a epic weekend in Italy. We had 4 Athletes take on Ironman Italy and 2 take on Ironman Italy 70.3. What a show Ironman Italy and the city of Cervia put on. We Had Seamus Duggan smashing this Ironman as he always does and added yet another PB to he’s records. Then John O’ Brien smashing he’s first Ironman. Claire Mockler also in her first Ironman drilled it home after suffering stomach issues all day long , massive effort from Claire. Then PJ Collins brought home the team after a tough day. Up next was was Garvan Wickham in the 70.3 absolutely smashing it again with an incredible swim then Sean Reidy on he’s first 70.3 , Sean has not being swimming long and absolutely smashed the swim and the gave a display on both bike and run legs.
6 Athletes signed up and 6 signed out. Such a brilliant Successful day for the club. The swim was amazing in the warm still waters, the bike was definitely one area where we all got a bit of a set back with one fine climb for 70.3 and the Full Ironman athletics having to take it on twice and the headwinds of the motorway making it a tough cycle. Then onto the run which was super flat and so well supported all round the city. The heat on both days was a massive factor for everyone, it was touching 30 degrees on both days making it very hard on athletes. All in all a brilliant weekend was had on a proud couple of days for the club. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💪💪💪💪💪💪

What a weekend. On Saturday John and PJ hit to Kilkee for Hell of the West and it didn’t disappoint a tough day out with both lads finishing well. Onto to Sunday and we had 10 members attend Kilkenny Triathlon. What a brilliant day with everyone putting in great performances. Seamus, Niall, Martin, John, Garvan, Robert, Veronica,Claire, Larry, Sean and PJ .
