Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. No dogs are allowed in the area. Please take your rubbish with you. LIFEGUARD ON DUTY

2pm to 4.30pm and 5pm to 7.30pm Weekends Only

Champion work done today at our Community Work Party opening the summer season! Volunteers cleared silt from the riverbed, overgrowth from around the young trees and cleared lots of branches and sticks from the water! The steps were also cleaned and some strimming was done. Rewarded with sandwiches, biscuits and tea πŸ˜‹ Many thanks to all who came along, here's to a great 2026 season 🌻

Champion work done this morning at our Community Work Party! Our heros cleared silt from the riverbed, cleared growth from around the young trees, got lots of branches and sticks out of the river, and were rewarded with lovelys sandwiches and tea! This weekend's Weir Pool activities:
Friday: Biodiversity seminar and film screening, Thomastown Town Hall.
Saturday: Community work party at the Weir Pool.
Sunday: Biosecurity workshop by The Nore Vision and NPWS for everyone using the river (swimming, paddling etc) at the Weir.
All free to attend. BΓ­gΓ­ linn!

UPCOMING EVENTS: To start the 2026 season, we're having a Community Work Party at The Weir Pool on Saturday 9 May 10am-12pm, followed by the TCRT AGM! All are welcome. The previous night, 8 May, TCRT and The Island Project are holding a Biodiversity Seminar and film screening of "Lough GrΓ©ine: A Bright Vision" in Thomastown Concert Hall at 7:30 - free to attend, all welcome.

Himalayan Balsam Picking at the Weir this Thursday 12 June at 7pm - All welcome!

We're leading Himalayan Balsam Picking at the Weir Pool site on Thursday, all welcome to help tackle this invasive species. Wear footwear with good grip and ideally waterproof, clothing and gloves to protect against nettles and a hi-viz vest if possible.
