Huge thank you to ONAKAI for inviting Gaelkarate to take part in such an inspiring Women in Karate weekend 🥋

Our students absolutely loved the experience and got so much from the sessions. It was fantastic to see everyone learning, training together and building confidence on the tatami.

A special thank you to Carla Burkitt for sharing her knowledge and experience, and to Kerri Gaffney for all the hard work organising such a brilliant event.

Well done to all our students who represented Gaelkarate so well 👏

🇮🇪 Irish International Karate Open Championships 2025 🥋
The Irish International Karate Open took place over the weekend at the National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown, Blanchardstown.

Karate competitors from all across Europe participated in this two-day professional event, and Gaelkarate entered a small but mighty team marking our first ever international competition! 🌍💪

🥇 Caoimhe Clabburn – Double Gold!
Irish Open Champion in Kata (8–9 years) and Kumite Girls +34kg

🥈 Rowan Whooley – Silver
Para Kata category

🥉 Robyn Whooley – Bronze
Female Cadet -54kg KU14 Kumite

👏 Juliette Croke – Competed brilliantly in KU16 +61kg Kumite

👏 Ewan Walsh – Competed superbly in Male Cadet Kata KA11 and Kumite -63kg

We are incredibly proud of all our competitors for their hard work, spirit, and sportsmanship throughout the weekend.
