An end of an era Rest in Peace Vinny you were a very big part of all our lives on the handball circuit thank you for your friendship over the many years

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Vincent Brennan,long time member, supporter and stalward of Ballaghaderreen handball club.
Vincent was a very prominent figure in the development of club and players in the club and will be sadly missed by all in the Handball community. Vincent dedicated his life to the game of Handball and in particular the code of Hardball the oldest form of Handball in Ireland.

The Ballaghaderreen Handball club offers its sincere sympathies to Vincent’s wife Carmel, sons Campbell, Daryl and Jonathan, daughters Anna and Karen and to his extended family and circle of friends.

Swinford Handball Club offers sincere condolences to the family of the late Denis Phelan Moycullen who passed away unexpectedly. Denis was a true stalwart of handball over many years and was known to many players from Mayo and further afield. Denis will be fondly remembered as a wonderful ambassador for the sport he loved and by the many friends he made through his genuine love of handball. May Denis rest forever in peace from his many friends in Swinford Handball Club.

What a great day to have the Paddy Bollingbrook tournament on, fabulous playing by Kevin/George against Ollie/Pauline in first round but however the younger crew proved to be too strong for our older gentlemen leaving a great final with Ollie /Pauline against Peter and Chris. Ollie and Pauline emerged victorious over Chris/Peter in a close fought final. A great day for the big alley with Ollie and Pauline playing some of the finest handball seen for a long time in Swinford alley. Thanks to Ollie and Pauline for organising and Jimmy for reffing both games well done all.

Ciara Mahon from Kilkenny.. Meadhbh Daly from Dublin, Kevin Barrett from Carlow Geoff Attkinson from Carlow and Pauline Ní Ghallachóir came to have a few games at Swinford Alley after the the All Ireland One Wall tournament played in Breaffy this weekend great to see visitors from all around the country wanting to play Swinford as it's one of the best outdoor alleys left in the country
