Calling all club paddlers! The Liffey Odyssey is just around the corner, taking place on Sunday, 5th October.
This is a unique and special event on the paddling calendar, and we’d love to see as many of you as possible out on the water. Not only is it a chance to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow paddlers, but it’s also a fantastic opportunity to support Barnardos in their vital work with vulnerable children.
Bring your energy, your paddles, and your spirit of support – let’s make this Odyssey one to remember!

One race is postponed, another gets created. If you’re looking to get out and compete, this could be a great option!

For anyone looking to get racing or for a great day on the water on Saturday 10th September the Liffey Lakes Paddle Race will be taking place on the beautiful lakes in Blessington, County Wicklow 🚣🏁 Starting and finishing at The Avon, this race will have three route options - 6km, 12km and 20km. All open to a great range of boats to cater for all levels 🚣‍♀️🚣
Registration will be on site on the Saturday morning from 10am, with the first race beginning at 2pm 🚀

Very sad news!

Dear Paddlers,
Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a difficult position regarding Liffey Descent 2022. The warm summer has resulted in extremely low levels in the reservoir that supplies the river Liffey with no hope of any relieving rainfall according to the long-range forecast. With the best interests of the health, safety and enjoyment of participants we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.
We are exploring the option of moving the race to April to alleviate the annual issue with water levels, which have become more problematic in recent years. If this plan comes to fruition, we will be offering you the option to move your entry to the new date. At this point we wanted to give you as much notice as possible of the cancellation so please bear with us while we work through our options.
We understand that Liffey Descent has a special place in on your calendar and we share your disappointment that it will not go ahead this year.
We will be in touch with updates when we have a firm decision in relation to dates.
