This swim is definetely worth entering and a great atmosphere every year. Keep your eyes out for registrarion.

Are you considering taking on the Channel Cup Swim this year? Important details to know: The swim will take place on the evening of Saturday 29th August. Registration to enter will open here on our page on Tuesday 4th August at 6pm. The swim starts at Tommy’s Island near the start of the prom in Rosses Point. The swim is tide assisted and is just over 1km. It finishes at the Harry Ewing pier beside the RNLI station. Neoprene wetsuits are compulsory -full length wetsuit, full length sleeveless wetsuit or a shorty wetsuit (short sleeve and knee length) allowed only. There will be a tasty and complimentary BBQ afterwards at Austies Bar and Restaurant, where the winners of various cups will be announced. You can choose to do a competitive or social swim. Participants in the competitive swim compete for the various cups. Lots to consider! Importantly, the event is in aid of the RNLI station based in Rosses Point. RNLI Sligo Bay

Now taking bookings for TERM 2 which will run from 7th July to 25th August. This is an 8 week term and it is on every Tuesday evening 6.15pm meet for a prompt 6.30pm start. We have 2 groups. For all Juniors who have signed up for Open Water Swimming

STARTING Wed 3RD JUNE Rosses Point!

5.45pm - Meet at Beachery for Roll Call
6.00pm - Enter Water for Session

✔️All swimmers must be fully dressed by 5.45pm with full length wetsuit & tow float and a pair of well fitted goggles. Please ensure the towfloat is adjusted to size before entering water.

✔️I would highly recommend to ensure your child has vaseline or body glide on any areas that may get chaffed from the wetsuit. Neck, underarms, back of knees etc. This can cause huge discomfort for the children when swimming if it's not applied liberally before putting suit on.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
If swimmers are not signed in at 5.45pm for any reason you ARE NOT TO ENTER THE WATER. This is strictly for safety reasons so please do not put your children or our coaches in a position that could cause any problems.

Please note what equipment is Compulsory and what equipment is not compulsory but recommended.

☆ Another item i would recommend are ear plugs specifically ones that still allow you to hear instructions while in the sea. For obvious reasons we dont recommend the others that leave you completely hard of hearing. Call into to get fitted for these.

☆ Dry Ear Spray is an amazing product that helps gets rid of stubnorn water in ear after swimming. It also helps refuce infection from being in water. I absolutely swear by this product and have been uaing it for years. It can be purchased in most pharmacies but after doing a lot of research it is available in
at the lowest price of €12.95. Nicholsons pharmacy is in town opposite Bank of Ireland and next to Matt Lyons shop. Pop in and .nicholson.7 or any of her staff who will be more than happy to advice you.
