Guns must be empty and broken or in a sling between drives.

If two people are sharing a stand, only one gun is permitted on the stand.

Low pheasants must not be fired at under any circumstances, including birds behind the guns.

A lot of pheasant shooters find it hard to hit high pheasants because they tend to shoot when the face isn’t on the gun’s stock. The hunter has thought that the pheasant is simple and forgotten ready for the shoot the fundamentals. The gun ought to always be mounted properly prior to attempting the shot, as to do otherwise is a formula for a lower success rate.

Green Days and Blue Days

After a one season hiatus it was great to Illaunmore shoot back again for 2104. Owner Michael Mahnke had some health problems sorted out and it was good to see him in such fine fettle. I have written a lot about this unique island shoot over the years and everything I have said is always justified.

Illaunmore has plenty of birds, a great athmosphere amongst the dogmen, helpers and the guns. A Typical Tipperary welcome is extended at all times.
