We are delighted with the new accessible kayak and canoe launch system, which helps improve inclusive access to water-based recreation, provided at Scarriff Harbour. The facility enables safer and easier launching and landing for users of all abilities, including people with reduced mobility. We look forward to many years of accessibility and inclusion on the water ~ many thanks to Waterways Ireland, Clare County Council & Clare Sports Partnership for the collaboration and bringing this project to life 👏🤗🛶🤩🛶🎉

🛶🏃‍♀️Clare County Council has provided a significant €120,000 in permanent sports infrastructure projects throughout the county under the Participation Nation Outdoor Fund (PNOF).

The investment, secured by the Clare Local Sports Partnership, is aimed at encouraging physical activity among people of all ages and abilities through the installation of barrier-free outdoor sports infrastructure, promoting inclusive, accessible recreational spaces.

A fantastic night was had on Friday 15th August last in Mountshannon Harbour as part of the Her Outdoors initiative with the Eastclarepaddlers & Clare Sports Partnership. It was a wonderful opportunity to introduce the art of Kayaking on a tranquil evening on Lough Derg. The Sun shone bright and our resident female Sea Eagle 🦅 knew the importance to show these ladies the beauty of nature & performed majestically for our visitors. Thank you to all who took part 🤩.
