Dublin based hockey club. 6 men's and 3 ladies' team compete across the Leinster leagues YMCA Hockey Club is a dynamic club with a long & proud history.

The 2008/2009 season was the club’s 100th birthday. Our membership ranges from under 8 to over 50, catering for players of all levels and abilities. New members are always welcome to the Club. The men’s section is one of the largest men’s hockey

clubs in Ireland. There are 5 men’s teams in the Leinster Senior League with our 1st XI plying their trade in Division 1 & our 5th XI in Division 7. Players with International caps:

Retired: Ralph Walker, Ken Blackmore, Philip Hardy, Pat Hade, Colin Hade, Norman Smyth, John Mckechnie, Jonathon Cole, Tom Jenkinson, Stuart Walker

Active: Iain Walker

Ladies:
The Ladies section was formed in 2006 and since then has gone from strength to strength, and now boasts two teams competing in the Leinster Leagues. As with any new team YMCA Ladies had to start in the lowest division in Leinster and have since then been working their way up! They have managed the impressive feat of six consecutive promotions and now play in Division 2. The 2nd XI have also enjoyed success since their formation in 2007 and now compete in Division 6. Colts:
The Junior/Colts section in YMCA has been one of the most successful in Ireland for a number of years and is seen as core to the success of the Senior Club. As a result, a significant amount of time, effort & resources goes into the coaching and nurturing of talent at this level and our Senior Club, Leinster & Ireland Representatives, as well as First Team players, are active in taking part in as many sessions as possible.

Huge congratulations to our very own Sam Hyland on being selected for the Irish Men’s World Cup Squad ! The Irish Men & Women both start their campaign on 16th August and you can watch all the Irish games on RTE , the rest of the games will be on Watch Hockey ! 🏑❤️ 6th Class Girls – We’re Back! ❤️🏑

The countdown to a new season starts now!

Join us this August as we get ready for the commencement of the 8-a-side league hockey season. These pre-season sessions are designed to build confidence, sharpen skills, develop match awareness, and help every player hit the ground running.

Whether you’re returning to YMCA or thinking of giving hockey a try for the first time, we’d love to see you there. All 6th Class girls are welcome!

That’s a wrap for our Junior Section Sunday morning gang! Massive thanks to all the coaches including Arul, Vinno, Stew, Kara, Ed, Ross, Jules, Simon, Robin, Bel, Toby, Lucy, James, Felicity, Grace, Elizabeth, Fred, Elena, Kate, Felix , Geordan, Sam, Ben, Bogger et al…we had such an amazing background staff every week without fail , it was a pleasure to coach all the amazing YM players, we keep building and look forward to a few months down time until next season ! Go well !

The M1s play Garvey away in their last game of the season, the L1s also play their final game of the season vs TRR at home with a win securing them 4th in the league ! The M2s and 4s also play TRR in their leagues.

The M1s play their second last game of the season tonight at 8:15pm vs at home ! Get out to support the men if you can !

❤️ FIXTURES 🖤

Our M1s are playing Banbridge at 2pm at home in their penultimate game, followed by the M2s who play Avoca needing 3 from 3 in their last games to secure the 1B title ! The M4s after winning the league now play in the Junior Cup Final vs TRR on the front pitch in TRR at 10am. The L3s play their last game vs Dublin North and the L1s play Genesis away !

Good luck to all teams especially our M4s who are looking to secure the double !
