How often do you catch yourself standing with all your weight on one hip while chatting, waiting in a queue or making a cup of tea?

These little habits might not seem important, but over time they can influence how your pelvis, hips and lower back feel.

This month for Movement Matters, we're exploring Pelvic Stability, helping you understand how small changes in everyday movement can support better posture, balance and confidence.

Sometimes, moving better starts with simply becoming more aware. šŸ’œ

šŸŽˆ 14 YEARS OF FINESSE! šŸŽˆ

Today marks 14 years since we first opened the doors of Finesse Movement. And what a journey it has been. šŸ’›

Over those 14 years, we’ve had the privilege of being part of so many people’s lives.

🤰 We’ve had women do Pilates with us throughout their pregnancies, and those babies are now teenagers!

šŸ’Ŗ We’ve watched clients come to us in pain, start moving again and never look back because of the freedom that pain-free movement has given them.

ā˜• We’ve built a community that goes far beyond Pilates, with our walking group, regular coffee get-togethers and friendships that have grown over the years.

🄾 We’ve even packed our bags and headed off on week-long adventures together, walking the Camino with the very people who first walked through our studio doors as clients.

When I opened Finesse 14 years ago, I could never have imagined what it would become.

Two studios. A physio clinic. Thousands of classes. So many clients and patients. An incredible team. And a community of people who genuinely care about each other.

I’m incredibly proud of the team we’ve built and so grateful for every client and patient who has trusted us with their body, their recovery and their movement over the past 14 years.

Some of you have been with us almost from the very beginning. ā¤ļø

Thank you for being part of Finesse.

Happy 14th Birthday to us! šŸŽ‚šŸ„‚

Here’s to many more years of helping people move well, feel strong and enjoy everything their bodies allow them to do. šŸ’›

This month, we're exploring Pelvic Stability.
Why ā”
Pelvic Stability is the foundation for how your body moves every day. Your pelvis supports your spine, hips and core, helping you walk, climb stairs, lift, bend and exercise with confidence.

Many people assume aches, stiffness or a lack of stability are simply part of getting older, but improving pelvic stability can often help you move more comfortably and confidently. Throughout the month, we'll combine Pilates with practical education to help you better understand your body and build a stronger foundation for everyday life.

Quick tip:
If you know you’ll be on your feet for a while, keep shifting your weight, do calf raises, roll through your feet, or take a short walk when you can.

Small movements = less stiffness later.

This month in Movement Matters, we’re focusing on Summer Movement, Summer Mobility and helping your body stay stronger, looser, and more supported for all the things summer throws at it.

How you feel when you wake up matters.

For many people, morning stiffness becomes so normal they stop questioning it.

The slow shuffle out of bed.
The tight back.
The stiff hips.
The aching joints that need ā€œwarming upā€ before the day can even begin.

But stiffness every morning isn’t just something you have to accept.

Often, it’s your body asking for better movement, better strength, and better support.

With physiotherapy and targeted Pilates, we can help uncover what’s causing that stiffness, improve mobility, build strength, and make everyday movement feel easier again.

Because the goal isn’t just less pain.

It’s waking up feeling ready for the day, not recovering from the night.

From stiff and sore… to strong and mobile.

That’s what better movement can do.

From pain… to possibility.

Wrist pain can seem small, until it starts affecting the everyday things you love. Lifting, carrying, gripping, gardening, exercising… even dancing.

For many people, the goal isn’t just to ā€œget rid of pain.ā€ It’s to get back to feeling like themselves again.

Through the right physiotherapy support and targeted Pilates, movement can improve, strength can build, and confidence can come back.

This is what progress can look like:
From discomfort and limitation… to freedom, movement, and joy.

Pain can make your world smaller. Movement can open it back up.

If something is holding you back, don’t ignore it. Sometimes the smallest ache can become the biggest barrier, but it doesn’t have to stay that way.

✨ Move better. Feel stronger. Live fuller.

This month’s Movement Matters theme is all about helping you move better through summer.
Summer often means more sitting than we realise, long drives, flights, road trips, or even just relaxing in the sun.
But staying in one position too long can tighten the hips, stiffen the back, and leave the knees feeling achy.
