The GP14 fleet from rush recently took the Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club to compete in the GP14 worlds. The event was a huge success overall with a week full of shifty and light winds accompanied by excellent off the water management from Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club ~ RNIYC . Our sailors in the 90 boat fleet showed their skills with an excellent performance by all. Huge shoutout to all of the prizewinners including a 1st in the bronze fleet from Daniel O’Hare and Maedbh Butterly🥇, 2nd in the bronze fleet from Riaghan Boardman and Oisin Alexander🥈and 3rd overall in the female competitors class from Lauren O’Hare and Annisha Harford🥉.

GP14 World Championships RNIYC

Our topper sailors recently competed in the topper world championships from the 25th to the 31st of July in Quiberon, France.

The sailors experienced light and inconsistent breezes all week but our contingent of Bobby Sheridan, Louis Kelly, Eva Kelly and Owen O’Rourke showed their skills in the large and talented fleet through qualifying.

Louis Kelly impressed in the silver fleet with a race win 🥇 while in the Bronze fleet RSC had its very own WORLD CHAMPION!! in Bobby Sheridan. Bobby recorded four race wins on his way to first place as he won with a gap of ten points to the next sailor. Our other sailors also showed their class in the Bronze fleet🥇🥉. Huge congratulations to our sailors competing on the world scene.

Our members were busy competing over the weekend. In the gp14 fleet our sailors took part in the Leinsters at . Lauren O’Hare and crew Aisling Kelly took first place in bronze 🥇 in a tricky weekend while Daniel O’Hare and crew Ciara took third 🥉

In Wexford our toppers took place in nationals. In a wild weekend our youths managed to card some strong results. Well done all 👏💪

Huge congratulations to the Storm crew as they take first place in Class 1 over the weekend at !!🚨🚨

Helmed by Rob O’Leary, the team managed to win in dramatic fashion through countback after suffering damage before the final race.

Well done to Erica Ruigrok who also took best female competitor of the regatta🏆🏆
