Monthly Pistol Competition. T & P 1. 26/07/2026.

This month’s Shooter Of The Year competition was T&P1 held on July 26th. There were 7 shooters taking part in 13 competitions which is a low turnout considering the numbers we have been getting throughout the year. The weather was sunny but windy.

The SBP was again the most popular discipline with 6 taking part. This was won by B M

OSBP was won by K R with A S only one point behind.

SBGR had three competitors, so the numbers are going up slowly. This was won by B M.

Thanks to all who took part and looking forward to the next competition which will be multi target on August 30th The holidays will be largely over by then so we are expecting to see a bigger turn out for the last shoot of this year’s competition.

R***e Cross Over shoot. 50/100 Metres. Saturday 25th July 2026.

Thank to all of the competitors who came out today to take part in this challenging event.

It was a very closely fought match with less than 10 points separating the first 5 competitors .

There was a tie for second place between 2 of our most experienced shooters, Sean Mc and Sean Mar. They have been shooting matches, side by side, for more years than they care to remember .

The tie was broken in the fairest method, a count of X shots . They were even on the 100 yard countback so we had to go to the 50 Metre cards to break the tie. Sean Mar pipped Sean Mc on this card.

These club matches are an excellent way to practice for outside competition and add a little excitement to our everyday shooting .

Depending on how the range improvements are scheduled we would hope to run a 3rd crossover in September .

Thank you all again for your support of the shoot .

Thank you to Dermot M for taking over range officer duties to allow me to shoot.

Sean Mar.

Monthly R***e Competition. July 5th 2026

It was a lovely warm(but not too warm), day for a competition. Sun was shining and a gentle breeze blew over us without disturbing the flight of the bullet. Scores were good overall with some competitors showing distinct improvement. The top spot seems to switch each month between the regular competitors but the magic “400” is still eluding us. I suspect this score will be achieved soon.

Monthly R***e Competition. June 7th 2026

It was a coolish day with strong gusting winds and sparse showers. more like April than June. The range flag indicated a full value wind at right angle to the direction of fire which frequently dropped off. The wind at ground level was much gentler although blowing occasionally in the opposite direction to the higher flag. In other words, watching the flag was important. The regular shooters for this competition showed up so competition was fierce between them. We encourage members who have not shot in this competition before to come along and try. You will only get encouragement if you do and tips on how to improve. We also let people shoot from a bench to get a feel for how it works..

SOTY Report 31st May Multi Target

This month’s SOTY competition was held on May 31st and was Multi Target.

This competition was run alongside an interclub competition with Midlands, results and report to follow separately. As medals are awarded for this competition there will be no cash prizes this month.

The weather was good except for a short rain shower during scoring of the first detail.

We had a couple of new shooters taking part which is good to see.

We had 16 competitors taking part in 27 competitions, so it was a good turnout considering it was a Bank holiday weekend.

Again, the most popular discipline was SBP with 10 shooters. This was won by R C.

OSBP had 8 competitors and was won by R F. who beat R C by 2 x, so very close competition there.

We had 2 entries in CFP. It was won by BM.

Following my plea last month for more GRSB shooters, we had 6 competitors this month. This was won by B M. So, thank you for taking part.

The next competition will be 25m Precision and will be held on June 28th.
The Detailed results are shown on our website here:

Inter club competition Midlands / ECSC report 31st May Multi Target

This month ECSC held an inter club competition with the Midlands shooting club. The competition was held along with our monthly SOTY multi target competition.

There was an excellent turn out with 29 shooters taking part in 45 competitions. Considering this was the June Bank holiday it was a very good attendance. The weather was mild with some rain.

We had 13 midlands members shooting mostly OSBP with three SBP and two CFP entries.

The OSBP was won by D H from Midlands with R F and R C from ECSC second and third. There were 20 entries in this, well done to D H.

SBP was won by R C. followed by H D and M F all from ECSC. There were 13 entries in this.

CFP was won by B M from ECSC followed by T M and M S from Midlands. There were 4 entries in this.

GRSB was won by B M followed by R C and M F all from ECSC, there were no Midlands entries, maybe next year. There were 6 entries in this.

Medals were awarded for 1st,2nd,3rd. in all disciplines. If you won a medal I will get it to you.

Considering that the Midlands members do not usually shoot Multi target there were some very good scores from them.

I would like to thank P D from Midlands for organising this event and all the Midlands and ECSC members who showed up to make this a great success. Hopefully this will become an annual event. Everyone seemed to have a good time and enjoy the shooting and the facilities of which there were some very complimentary remarks. It was great to see new people from a different club, have a chat and do some shooting.

Thanks also to H D and S M for running the event and doing the scores.

The return leg will be held in Midlands on August 2nd shooting a bullseye competition. Hopefully ECSC will be as well represented at this as the Midlands were for our event.

The detailed scores are shown on the ECSC website here
