Sympathy: On Friday August 21 we received the news of the untimely death of Deirdre McCarthy.
Deirdre served as not only Lady Captain but also as Honorary Secretary of Roscrea Golf Club. An immensely popular member we extend our sympathies to both the McCarthy and the Boyd families. Deirdre also had many friends in Roscrea Golf Club. We will miss her friendship, great personality and good humour. As a mark of respect, the Ladies Club cancelled their scheduled competitions on Sunday 23 and Tuesday August 25. As is customary the Club provided a Guard of Honour at her removal to St. Brendan’s Church, Birr on Monday August 24. May Deirdre Rest in Peace, she will be sorely missed.

Due to cancellations of competitions the re-entry competition will be scored on one entry.
