We stayed a little bit closer to home last weekend to take part in ever popular Metalman Swim Series 🏊 For the third year running the conditions we’re deemed unsuitable in Rosses Point so the venue was changed to Mullaghmore where 239 swimmers entered the water throughout the 3 events 🌊 🏊🏼‍♀️

Water temperature was reported to be on the chilly side although I didn’t see a temperature reading I’d guess about 14 🌡️ We had 5 swimmers taking part and yet again representation in all 3 distances 💪 👏🏻

Our swim road trips continued last weekend with our first ever trip to Carlingford to take part in the infinity Channel Swimming “Battle of Carlingford 7.5k” from Omeath - Carlingford 🌊

Thankfully the predicted winds didn’t show up so the sea conditions were pretty favourable and so was the water temperature at 16 degrees, a lot warmer than we expected as the west coast was only 13 degrees a few days before 😇

It was Sue’s first time swimming that distance in a competitive event and Edward’s first time ever swimming that distance, both coming home in 4th place in the female/male wetsuit category, kudos to ye on completing it 💪 And there first time experiencing the salt tongue 😂

Club member Bernie Carthy recently completed the Wim Hof method instructor course in Poland to become an instructor and is now offering people a chance to experience the method in her home town, Carrick on Shannon 🛁 🥶
