Unfortunately Sapphire will be the last ever foal from Inde...
As I went to check to see that everything was OK with Inde and Sapphire I noticed something not right with Inde's back end I thought that all the afterbirth hasn't come out so we got the vet out but he told us that everything was out of her so it turns out it's a tumor in her birth canal which the foal would have brought up which has now ended Indes breeding career due to this and sadly it could spread if it hadn't already and it's something we can't find out so sadly it will shorten her life as one day I will have to make that decision as her owner it really is the down side of owning horses but I wouldn't change it as I will always help any horse or pony it's my dedication to them and always will be. So Inde has been stitched up like having Caslicks but vet has done it in way that it will be sealed not completely of course π but it stops the tumor coming out π€¦ββοΈ
Luckily it's not genetic thank goodness who knows what causes it but like us humans who knows what causes cancer in some people same for horses.
But I am very lucky that Sapphire came in to this world and that Inde is here happy as ever they will both go out to grass soon which I can not wait for it's my favourite part of breeding letting mare and foal out for the first time together and the foals seeing a field for the first time π anyway still one more to foal when she makes her mind up too π€£
But as for Inde she has been and still is amazing mare she is the first Irish sport horse I brought when I was 18 and she had my first Irish sport horse foal it's because of her I am addicted to breeding π€¦ββοΈπ€£ She owns me nothing at this point in her life she is now a 13yo mare who can live happily with me till the end of time but who knows when that will happen but she will be able to go out with my other mares who have foals at foot and be a babysitter in the future π€£
I also think it's important to post this on Facebook and explain about Inde as I know she has a fan base has been here from day one of my journey in the Irish sport horse industry and I also think it's important to also to share the bad times we have here just as much as the good, amazing and happy times we do have
Oh the joys of horses let alone breeding
