Rochfortbridge pitch and putt are holding the first major competition of the season, the Johnny Cowley (the black man), this Saturday. At last we can get out in numbers and compete. The holders are Pat McCarthy and Mick Lennon who were untouchable last year. Roll on Saturday and best of luck to all ⛳

Rochfortbridge held the Bord Na Mona Cup tonight. It was a beautiful evening and there were some great scores in. Mark kelly took the gross for the second time this year with regards to club majors. Mark shot a 99 tonight. Our winner with a super 76 Nett was Liam Metcalfe. Great to have another Metcalfe back at the club. Well done Liam!!!

We had a very successful open this year. Huge thanks to our greens keepers, Jim Gill and Charlie McHugh and our kitchen staff Patricia McCarthy and James McHugh. Our winners in the mixed grade were Aidan Moore and Elaine Kelly (36 Nett) Kevin Clarke and Maureen Clarke (36 Gross) Jimmy Revins and Adeline Revins (54 Nett)
In the gents grade our winners were Alan Devaney and Martin Loran (36 Nett) Pat McCarthy and Mark Kelly (36 gross) and Tom Metcalfe and Liam Metcalfe (54 Nett).
Thanks to all who supported us this year. We look forward to the Martin Coyne memorial in October!

Great night at our presentation for 2016. Charlie McHugh an Mark Kelly pretty much cleaned up this year. There were prizes there for both Ivan Oxley and Martin White also. Well done to all. Also we would like to give huge thanks to our green keepers, namely Eamon Daly, Jim Gill and Charlie McHugh. A special mention also for Bill Swords who was humble as ever receiving a well deserved token of our appreciation for the 40 plus years involved in our club. This includes of course actually designing the course. Patricia McCarthy and Caroline Gill who have been looking after us all with regards refreshments. A great year for us and heres to what 2017 may bring!

Invitational turkey shoot this Saturday in the Bridge. It will be in the form of a three ball scramble. Bring your teams. Registration at half 12 and tee off at 1. Nett and Gross prizes up for grabs. Hope to see another great turnout!

Huge thanks to all who came out to the bridge today to play in our 3 ball scramble. I think we can all agree the course was in great shape for the time of the year. We have Jim Gill, Charlie McHugh and Eamon Daly to thank for that. Fair play lads! We had players from Lough Owel, Kilbeggan, Colinstown and of course Rochfortbridge. Great to see a very good crowd. The nett winners were Jim Gill, Caroline Gill and Tommy Dunne with a great 64 nett. The gross winners were Mark Kelly, Gary Middleton and Jamie Loran with an excellent 79 gross. Well done to our winners and again thanks to all for the support.

Well done to Charlie McHugh who won the presidents prize yesterday. What a superb year he has had. Charlie has won all but one major this year. Mark Kelly won the gross. This is Marks fourth gross prize this year. Many thanks to our president Mr Bill Swords for a great day.

Huge thanks to Mr Jim Gill our chairman for holding the Chairmans prize today. Despite ridiculous pin positions chosen by Jim and Charlie McHugh scores were quite good. The sun shone as we played and Charlie McHugh was our winner with a well worked 85 Nett. Charlie, in fact has won all of our majors so far this year. He's playing great stuff. Keep it up Cha! Mark Kelly took the gross with 98. It was a great day and thanks to all who took part!

Next Saturday the 27th August sees our chairmans prize take place at 2pm, there will be a visitors prize at this competition and entry fee is 10 euro. Hope to have a good turnout for our chairman Jim Gill
