Today, 1st April 2026, marks a truly special milestone in the history of Stackstown Golf Club. On this day exactly 50 years ago, in 1976, our club was officially affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland, a defining moment that helped shape the identity, standards and proud traditions we continue to uphold today.
Over the past five decades, this affiliation has supported the growth of our club both on and off the course. It has enabled generations of members to compete, connect and represent Stackstown with pride across the country. More importantly, it has reinforced the spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship and community that lies at the heart of everything we do.
As we celebrate this golden anniversary, it is fitting to reflect on the dedication and vision of those who came before us, whose efforts laid the foundation for the vibrant and welcoming club we enjoy today. Equally, we look forward with confidence and enthusiasm to the future, as we continue to build on this legacy together.
