U9s Mini World Cup update.

Our three u9 teams played their final group games this evening. Nigeria were unlucky not to go through, with a strong North End team advancing from the group. Portugal and Chile march on to the quarter finals after topping their groups. Great team spirit shown by all the players over the last two weeks. Up Fastnet 🟥⚫️🔴⬛️

Our 16 girls are back in action for the last game of the season this Tuesday, May 19th. This game is crucial as it will determine who tops our group. Please come out to support the girls!

The league playoff follows an exciting 3-3 draw against Kilenagh last Sunday. The girls got off to a slow start and were down 3-0 at halftime. However, an excellent second-half comeback saw them score three goals without reply, forcing the draw and bringing the league to a playoff. Mia scored our first goal to make it 3-1, and soon after, Amy Doran, who has just returned to the team, netted the second following an assist from Katie—game on! With time almost up, Arwen, who kindly played in goal for us, had a long kick out down the field. Mia picked it up and embarked on one of her solo runs, unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner to equalize and secure a playoff match for the league.
