all angling @ Derryounce is controlled Portarlington Angling Club
- a club lake permits is require
- annual membership is from 1st April to 31st March
- no day ticket
- both lake fly-fishing only ( no spinning / bait fishing )
- bank & wading fishing only ( no boats, kayak, float tubes etc )
- open all year round ( fish well in the colder months)
- stocked with Brown & Rainbow Trout
- Lough Lurgan is 25 acres & Derryounce Lake is about 5 acres

Annual lake permit adult €70, OAP/student €50, junior €20
Winter permit (from 1 Oct) adult €35, OAP/student € 25, junior €10.

The Portarlington Angling Club AGM is scheduled for Wednesday the 27th of March at 7:00 pm in the, Portarlington Community Centre, The Link Road, R32 D797

River and lake permits / membership will be available as they can no longer be purchased in the Port Auto Parts in the town.
All members are asked to attend and the stocking of the lakes needs to be discussed amongst other topics.

Important CLUB MEETING RESCHEDULE to Friday the 23rd of February @ 7 pm in the Portarlington Community Centre.

I would urge all members to attend as the ten year development plan for Derryounce was sent during the week and needs to be discussed urgently. By the looks of the plan, the angling club was given little or no consideration in the plan.

Portarlington Angling Club AGM will be held on Wednesday 23rd of February in the community centre at 8pm . This is a very important meeting as a new committee must be formed. All members are requested to attend new members are more than welcome.

The club would like to acknowledge that we are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the passing of P.J. (Pat Jo),Dunne and express our deepest sympathies to the Dunne family during this difficult time. P.J. was an absolute gentleman,a fine angler and a credit to the Angling club . He is in our thoughts and prayers and will truly be missed.

Access to the lake from the Eddenderry Road will not be possible over the next few days as ongoing works on the 2km lane to the lake are completed. The works will hopefully be completed as swiftly as possible and a notice will go up upon completion so please do not attempt to access the lake via the lane until further notice. Apologies for any inconvenience caused

There are ongoing works going on out at the lake over the next couple of days which may limit access to vehicles at times or the gate may be locked completely please be mindful of this and the work should be concluded swiftly.

I know this hardly needs mentioning as the majority of anglers know exactly how dangerous it is but please anybody who goes to Derryounce do not step on the frozen lake as the ice could give way at anytime ending with dire consequences enjoy the view by all means from the safety of the shore
