Our Under 15 hurling and camogie representatives were in the Midlands Park Hotel this evening for the official launch of the 2026 Féile na nGael.

Representing the club from the camogie section were coach Ger McEvoy along with Emily McEvoy and Sasha Lawless.

Representing the hurling section were coach Brian Devaney together with Luke Devaney and Tadgh Graham.

The National Féile na nGael finals will take place on the weekend of Saturday, June 20, with some of the top U15 club teams from across the country competing at venues throughout Laois and Carlow.

We wish both squads, their management teams and all involved the very best of luck as they represent Portlaoise and Laois on the national stage.

The inaugural Paddy Fitzpatrick 7-A-Side Tournament took place in Rathleague this morning, with 35 of our U15 footballers taking part across five teams.

There was great craic and plenty of laughs from the first throw-in, but as the morning progressed and the trophy came into sight, the competitive edge certainly emerged among both players and managers. The standard of football on display was excellent, with every player getting plenty of game time throughout the tournament.

After a series of closely contested games, it was the Galway team who emerged victorious. Team captain Noah Finn had the honour of accepting the Paddy Fitzpatrick Cup from Paddy's wife, Imelda Fitzpatrick, following the final game.

Congratulations also to Ryan Fennell, who was named Player of the Tournament. The award was selected by the management teams and was a fitting recognition of an excellent morning's football.

A huge thank you to our managers Paul Cahillane, Kieran Lillis, Kevin Swayne, Josh Hogan, Benny Carroll and Ben Dempsey for giving up their time and helping to make the event such a success.

Most importantly, well done to all 35 players who embraced the spirit of the day, represented themselves brilliantly and made the inaugural Paddy Fitzpatrick 7-A-Side Tournament a fantastic occasion.

Congratulations to our winners and here's to many more years of the Paddy Fitzpatrick 7-A-Side Tournament in Rathleague.

C'mon The Town! đŸ€đŸ’š
