Maryborough FC Founded in 2009 by friends, joined the CCFL in 2011. Based in Portlaoise, were now competing in Division 3A and remain a steady local presence 3.

Combined Counties Football League Division 3A Result:

St Aengus 3 Maryborough 1

Tough loss today against a strong Aengus side. Goalless at half time, Aengus took the lead early in the second half. Following a sending off for Maryborough, Aengus took control and scored twice more. Maryborough battled to the end and were rewarded with a late Colm Phelan goal.

With four games left, the race for the division is gearing up and any of the top 4 could win it.

Time for a catch up!!

Since the Christmas break we've had three games and we've got three wins from three.

It started with a 4-1 win away against Gallen B in the CCFL Shield,. A Sean Hofmeister hat trick and Seamus Lawless the scorers.

We followed that up with a very hard fought victory away to Cloneygowan. Sean Hofmeister opened the scoring early, only to be pegged back with a spectacular 30 yard effort but a very late Gary Hofmeister goal got us the maximum points.

Finally a convincing 3-0 win at home on Sunday last against Rosenallis B has cemented our place in the promotion race. A Sean Hofmeister brace and Mikey Feeney the scorers.

Combined Counties Football League Division 3A Result:

Portlaoise Rovers 3 Maryborough 1

Maryborough suffered their first league loss on Sunday last against Portlaoise Rovers. Two quick goals from Rovers put Maryborough on the back foot virtually from the off. A Colm Phelan header early in the second half reduced the defecit but as Maryborough attacked looking for an equaliser, Rovers caught them on the break and sealed the game with less than ten minutes to go.

Maryborough: Chris Cash, Colm Phelan, Shaun Mulhall, Garreth Dunne, Killian Breen, Dean Kavanagh, Dean Delaney, Nathan Da Silva, Seamus Lawless, Mikey Feeney, Sean Hofmeister.
