We’ve found our award-winning mystery artist from the Oughterard Show!

A huge congratulations to Arianna O’Connor from our Corrib U14 Girls, who created this fabulous Corrib Basketball artwork and won third place at the show! 🥉👏

🇮🇪 A proud day for Corrib Basketball Club! 🇮🇪

Huge congratulations to club legend Harry Walsh, who has received his first Ireland cap after representing the Ireland Over-60s. What a fantastic and thoroughly deserved achievement! 🏀

Harry also represented Ireland at the Malahide Masters, where the team enjoyed a brilliant tournament and came agonisingly close in the final, losing by just a single point.

Harry has given so much to basketball over the years, and it is wonderful to see him being honoured on the international stage.

Everyone at Corrib is immensely proud of you, Harry. A true club legend and now an officially capped Irish international! ☘️👏

Corrib Basketball Club is proud to support our partners at Corribdale Park, a fantastic community facility created and maintained by dedicated local volunteers.
The park already offers walking trails, a playground, teen zone, sensory garden and the new Inclusive Train/Roundabout and tennis courts. Together, Corrib Basketball Club and Corribdale Park are working towards an exciting new project – an outdoor basketball court that will provide a free, public space for children, young people, families and our members to play and enjoy basketball all year round.
To continue providing and maintaining these wonderful community facilities, Corribdale Park relies on community support to help cover essential costs such as playground maintenance, insurance and repairs.

🇮🇪🏀 Corrib legend Harry Walsh goes for bronze with Ireland in Athens!

A huge shout-out from everyone at Corrib Basketball Club to *Harry Walsh, who has been representing **Ireland Men’s Over 60s* at the FIBA Masters Open in Greece.

Harry is a true Corrib club legend — former player, coach, chairperson and long-time servant of the game — and it has been brilliant to follow his journey in the green of Ireland.

Ireland opened their campaign with a superb *63–43 win over Puerto Rico, before producing one of the moments of the tournament with a dramatic **50–48 win over Italia Golden Players*. Harry told us the team had been behind for much of the game, clawed their way back, levelled it in the final seconds, and then scored from a brilliant inbound play they had been practising to seal the win.

There were tough battles after that against * Mexico, **Australia Green* and *Australia Gold, including a nail-biting **39–36* loss to Australia Gold. Harry also got on the scoresheet for Ireland against Mexico — a very special moment in an Irish jersey.

Now Ireland get another crack at Italy in the *bronze medal match tomorrow*.

Everyone in Corrib will be cheering Harry and the Ireland M60s on. What a fantastic achievement, and what a wonderful reminder that basketball really is a game for life.

We’re delighted to announce our **Corrib Basketball Summer Camp** this August, led by **Ireland & Galway Mystics players Kara McCleane and Ava McCleane**.

A brilliant opportunity for players to develop their skills, build confidence, learn from two fantastic role models, and enjoy a great week of basketball in Oughterard.

📍 **Oughterard Community Centre**
📅 **10th – 14th August 2026**
💶 **€75 for 5 sessions**

Groups and times:

**8–10 years**
9am–11am

**11–13 years**
11am–1pm

**14+ years**
1.30pm–4pm

Corrib Basketball Club needs you! 🏀

As we plan for the 2026/27 season, we are looking for more coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, table officials and parent helpers across the club.

You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to be reliable, positive, willing to learn, and happy to help keep our young players on court.

Training and support will be provided, and the club can help arrange coaching, safeguarding and table official courses where needed.

Corrib is growing, with teams from youth to adult basketball — but we can only keep building if more people step forward.
