We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported our two recent fundraising events. We had a very successful raffle at the craft fair in Oughterard Community Center on the 24th of November where we raised €951. We would like to thank the OCC Board for their support.
We held our coffee morning on Friday the 29th of November at Powers Thatch Bar and this event was a tremendous success where we raised €6624 and it was all thanks to you—those who attended, donated, baked and contributed in so many ways.

A special thank you to the local businesses and individuals who generously donated raffle prizes, and to Powers Thatch Bar for hosting us. Your contributions were invaluable.

The incredible turnout and sense of community spirit on the day, and the encouraging feedback we’ve received has been heartwarming. Thanks to your support, we’ve raised enough funds to purchase two more AED units for our team, which will help us respond even more effectively to emergencies.

Since our launch, we’ve attended many calls, making a real difference in our community, and this wouldn’t be possible without your ongoing support.

The community is at again....Incredibly grateful to all the McGauley family who, on the back of the 2nd Anual Rosie McGauley Truck & Tractor Run, gave a very generous donation to Community First Responders - Oughterard.
Proceeds will be put to good use helping us better serve our catchment area, and attend to potentially life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke or choking.

In a wonderful display of community support, the Oughterard Show Committee has recently donated a life-saving Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Community First Responders - Oughterard(CFR). This generous contribution marks a significant milestone in enhancing emergency response capabilities in our local area. The Oughterard CFR, a dedicated group of volunteers, plays a pivotal role in attending certain types of emergency calls with the goal of reaching potential life-threatening incidents in the crucial minutes before the arrival of ambulance crews. Their primary mission is to stabilize patients and provide essential care, including defibrillation, to increase the chances of survival. The AED donated by the Oughterard Show Committee is a vital addition to their toolkit, ensuring that they can respond promptly to cardiac emergencies in our community.

The Oughterard CFR Group relies heavily on fundraising efforts to acquire essential training equipment, such as mannequins and AED trainers, as well as maintaining their First Responder kit. This generous donation from the Oughterard Show Committee not only provides a tangible lifesaving resource but also serves as a testament to the strong community spirit that defines our town. The funds saved through this donation will enable the Oughterard CFR to continue to equip and train volunteers in the community. As they work in tandem with the National Ambulance Service, this contribution represents a critical step toward strengthening emergency response capabilities and ensuring the well-being of our residents. The Oughterard Show Committee's generosity is a shining example of how our community comes together to make a real difference in the lives of those who call Oughterard home.

Sorry for the photos. Was delivering it when I realized I hadn't taken any pics. Well you can see it anyway. 4.5 inch blade with a Newtonian wood handle. A lovely Irish Ash handle on the fire steel.
Will make sure to take proper photos next time

Been a while. A full set of kitchen knives. Hi carbon steel with black linen micarta handles so water won't bother them. Looks great.

The last of the Christmas presents. 4.5 inch drop point blade. Irish Elm handle with antler tipped firesteel. Can now relax for the holidays.
