🌊 WOW — Women On Water, at GBSC! ⛵️💗🌸
It was our absolute delight to host such a special event, encouraging women from across Galway to get out on the water and discover just how much fun sailing can be!
The event raised funds for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute, making an already fantastic day even more meaningful. 🎀

One of the highlights of our year so far, WOW showcased the incredible people we have here at Galway Bay Sailing Club and the adventurous spirit of our Galway community.

From first-time sailors to seasoned cruisers, it was fantastic to see so many women take to the bay and experience sailing for the first time aboard our cruisers. 🌊⛵️

A huge thank you to everyone who made the day so special — we can’t wait to see where your next adventure takes you! 💙

Oppie Nationals 2026 👏🏼
Well done to all seven members of our oppie squad Sadhbh Smith, Darragh Baynes, Hannah Wilson, Rossa Smith, Kate Wilson, Sarah Wilson and Aoibhe Baynes who represented GBSC so well in Crosshaven this weekend both on and off the water!

Well done to Sadhbh Smith who won 4th Silver in the Senior fleet and Darragh Baynes who won 3rd Bronze in the Senior fleet.

The Regatta coached fleet was well represented with Aoibhe Baynes receiving a most improved sailor award at one of the daily prize givings and both Kate and Sarah Wilson showing great courage. Sarah was the youngest participant in a fleet of 178 sailors!
