St Brigids 0-19 St Ultans 1-14
Round 9 of the League on Thursday evening saw us take on St Ultan's at home. Despite the heavy rain that fell all day it stopped an hour before throw in and the rain held off until the match finished. St Ultan's started the brighter and had 1-02 on the board before we scored our first point in the 9th minute. We settled into the game at this stage and by halftime we were just a point adrift with the score reading 1-03 to 0-05 in the visitors favour.
The second half followed the same script with the teams exchanging scores so that by the 48th minute we were level at 0-11 to Ultan's 1-08 with help from Cormac Browne's two 2 pointers from play in this period.
The game then burst into life with Brigids notching eight points to Ultan's six for the rest of the contest with Cian Blake helping himself to four of these points in this spell to run out winners by two at the end. Special mention to our entire defences massive workrate with Michael and David also putting in a big shift in the engine room as well as Cian and Cormac with the big scores when needed. This result means we have made the semi-final of the League with home advantage still with two games remaining.

It is with deep regret that St Brigids GFC note the passing of Liam Fanning of the Black Road. Liam who is one of our clubs Presidents has given a lifetime of outstanding service to the St Brigids club. Noted as a strong determined defender he, along with his brothers, provided a strong backbone to our teams in our early days. After finishing playing Liam continued his involvement with the club and made a massive contribution with our underage teams undertaking coaching, arranging matches etc as well as helping out with transport. Liam’s family have also played their part and have given great support to our club.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Kathleen and the Fanning family on their sad loss.
May Liam rest in peace.

St Brigids GFC extends our deepest sympathy to Maureen and the family of the late Pat Masterson Ballymacad on their sad loss. Pat and the Masterson family have given great support to St Brigids and have played their part in our success both on and off the playing field. May Pat rest in peace.
