Circle Reflection Part 2: The Power of Returning

To be deeply and completely known isn’t the only thing I reflect on as I show up as a villager.

I continue to return to the same circles/gatherings as circle for me is an anchor back to myself, my purpose and meaning, my values, and of course my villages. An anchor back to being deeply known but also back to spaces where I deeply know others.

Each time I show up to these communities and villages both Lisa Mabberley | Mother, Nurture & Wild and Mitlé Southey have created (I mentioned in Reflection Part 1), I get to sit with women I’ve been getting to know over the years who also continue to show up. It is so comforting to get to share as life flows along through times of growth, settling or contemplating, through grief, and any other life experiences. I get to bear witness to these things unfolding for other women and they get to bear witness to it unfolding for me. We cry together, rage together, laugh together, and celebrate together. It’s all very human and therefore very beautiful.

There is something magical about a group of women who may all arrive as strangers and leave realising they were never as alone in their experiences as they thought. Through continual returning, we feel less and less like strangers until the knowing happens. Then we get the privilege of sharing life with OUR real life people we’ve taken the time to know and who know us.

I deeply believe the magic of circle is found in the commitment we make to keep arriving, staying open to being seen and known, and to continue to witness others in all seasons of our lives and not hide away alone when things get hard. It is found in the openness of nurturing deeper and ongoing relationships through all life phases.

How would it feel to be anchored into a continual village? To be deeply known and deeply know others? Does your soul crave it? I know mine does.

Circle Reflection Part 1: Being Deeply and Fully Known

As a circle holder, I know the power and importance of sitting in circle myself. Not always a circle leader but also a circle member.

I regularly sit in circle with the wonderful Lisa and my circle mentor Mitle . Both are online circle communities which is equally wonderful and unfortunate as I would love nothing more to sit with both these women and their communities in person! However, it has worked so well to fit into my business life and now busy mum life and soon to be both.

When I am a community member, a villager for someone else’s village, I get to relax and sink in. Something I notice each time I virtually step inside their circle doors is that I feel so at ease because I have continued to show up into those spaces over the years (not just once or a handful of times, but MANY times over the years). From showing up and continuing to be a villager in their villages, I become known to them, I ALLOW myself to be known.

“I allow myself to be fully known.” Think about this statement.

How often do you consistently return to something long enough to be FULLY known?

Not just casually known where they know the surface level stuff about you, not where they only know the carefully curated version of you, but to be so open and consistent that you are seen and known so fully.

What would that be like???

Scary?

A moment to finally exhale as you’re not holding it all together so no one sees the cracks?

Or maybe you aren’t sure yet.

Imagine a space where you don’t hold it all together or appear a certain way, imagine you just show up and let yourself be. Just as you are. With all your quirks, eccentricities, knowledge, not knowing, lumps and bumps, crooked toes (maybe that’s just me).

A space where you don’t need to edit yourself before entering because all that you are adds to the richness of the circle experience for all.

A space that embraces ALL OF YOU.

EDIT: This beautiful circle/topic is being postponed until Autumn. Please reach out if interested as I have a few things I am planning as far as a series of motherhood specific circles.

Hi sweet mamas,

I am coming back to my circle space for the first time in two years with a deep purpose that meets where I am in my own life (the last one was right before finding out I was pregnant!) .

The Altered Mama circle is for any mama with children of any age (babies to adults!) who want to delve deeper into why motherhood and parenting at this time in our world is so needed.

We will be reflecting on questions around our own motherhood journeys as well as mothering in today’s world.

This will be a space for contemplation, reflection, and sharing, which is vital that we take time for as mums.

I know I have found making time for myself and time for any type of reflection, let alone any deep reflection, to be so hard to find.

Yet anytime I gather in the circles I am a part of, I give myself the chance to reroot and ground back into myself.

It lets me remember.
Remember who I am, who I’ve been and am becoming, and what my values are I want to live by.

If you’re a mum who is pondering if this circle would be a good fit for you, sit with these two questions:

How has your vision and desires for this world been altered by your journey through motherhood thus far?

What does mothering during these times mean to you? Why is it important and what values do you bring with you and live by?

To join in this gathering, you do not need any circle experience, I hold the space and lovingly guide you through.

Women’s circles have been my go to for my own reconnection and remembering of who I am in this world and what I stand for. I have sought them when I am feeling inspired and also when I am feeling depleted and lost.

The medicine I believe we need most in the world right now is the power of gathering.

I absolutely would love to welcome you in if you are feeling called to this circle.

To join or to ask any questions, please reach out to me at 0830861966.

I look forward to welcoming you to this space.

From all my messy and strongest parts to yours,
Morgan xx

My September dump is pretty much all mushrooms. 😂
Is anyone else enjoying mushroom season as much as I am?? 😍🍄

They have made my walks in the forest so fun.

Taking the time to move slower and with more awareness of my surroundings. Getting close to the ground and being in awe of all the life happening that we don’t often pay attention to.

Get curious about the different textures, colours, and smells in the changing seasons.

It might be hard to tell in the photos but so many of these mushrooms are TINY!

This morning I sat in the most delicious and nourishing workshop/ circle for Mabon, the autumn equinox, held by Lisa

It was just the invitation back to myself I needed as we enter the darker and slower paced months. After such a busy summer it is so grounding to be guided back to slowness and reflection .

After holding a most deep diving 6 month circle space last autumn and winter, Hearth Home, this autumn season I’m deciding to join one for myself. It is something my soul has been craving for a while as this summer was very busy and came with many big changes.

I’m letting myself be Held by Lisa over the next 6 month period which is such a change for me as I do so much holding of others in my own counselling and circle work that this is such a gift to myself.

It is my hope that circle spaces like these become more widely used as deep connection points for ourselves and our communities. Especially for those out there holding space for others, it is essential you find spaces to be held yourselves.

Wishing you all a slow and nourishing Mabon and autumn season 🤲🏼🍂
