Well done to all our athletes who competed in the highly competitive u9-u11 Munster Championships in Waterford over the weekend. The performances were excellent from everyone with a few medals π₯π₯π₯lots of personal bests, and invaluable experience gained from competing at this level.
Results Day 1 (Girls)
U9 60m Ayda Corbet had a great run in her first munster championships coming 3rd in a very fast heatπͺ.
U11 60m Isoblel Corbett 1st in her heat in 9.77 (5th place overall) πand Ivy Redmond and Saoirse Shanahan also competed in this event.
U11 Long Jump Saoirse Shanahan and Laura Kennedy with a combined effort of 6.82 finished 5th
in the pairs Long-jump.
U11 Girls Relay 2nd in heat (5th place overall). Isobel Corbett, Laura Kennedy, Saoirse Shanahan, Ivy Redmond.π
Results day 2 (Boys).
U9 Turbo Javelin - Oran Brosnan with a throw of over 17m came home with a bronze medal π₯π₯
U9 300m - Oran Brosnan 1st in his heat (1 of 4) with a personal best of 53.5 seconds in a superb run coming 5th overallπββοΈπββοΈ
U10 500m - Fionn Ryan, Fiachra Shanahan, and Aidan Downey. outside the medals with PBs for all 3 ππ
U10 Long-Jump - Fiachra Shanahan with a PB Jump of 3.79 m came 3rd π₯π₯ and Fionn Ryan put in a super jump and massive PB of 3.57 (6th overall) to earn the boys a fantastic pairs silver π₯π₯ missing first by 3cm while also qualifying for the national finals ππ.
U10 - Boys relay. Fiachra Shanahan, Aidan Downey, Fionn Ryan, and Oran Brosnan. 3rd in their heat and finished 5th place overall.πͺ
A big thank you to the parents and siblings for the support over the two days and making the long drive to Waterford!
