Well done to all our athletes who competed in the highly competitive u9-u11 Munster Championships in Waterford over the weekend. The performances were excellent from everyone with a few medals 🥈🥉🥉lots of personal bests, and invaluable experience gained from competing at this level.

Results Day 1 (Girls)

U9 60m Ayda Corbet had a great run in her first munster championships coming 3rd in a very fast heat💪.

U11 60m Isoblel Corbett 1st in her heat in 9.77 (5th place overall) 👌and Ivy Redmond and Saoirse Shanahan also competed in this event.

U11 Long Jump Saoirse Shanahan and Laura Kennedy with a combined effort of 6.82 finished 5th
in the pairs Long-jump.

U11 Girls Relay 2nd in heat (5th place overall). Isobel Corbett, Laura Kennedy, Saoirse Shanahan, Ivy Redmond.👏

Results day 2 (Boys).

U9 Turbo Javelin - Oran Brosnan with a throw of over 17m came home with a bronze medal 🥉🥉
U9 300m - Oran Brosnan 1st in his heat (1 of 4) with a personal best of 53.5 seconds in a superb run coming 5th overall🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

U10 500m - Fionn Ryan, Fiachra Shanahan, and Aidan Downey. outside the medals with PBs for all 3 👏👏

U10 Long-Jump - Fiachra Shanahan with a PB Jump of 3.79 m came 3rd 🥉🥉 and Fionn Ryan put in a super jump and massive PB of 3.57 (6th overall) to earn the boys a fantastic pairs silver 🥈🥈 missing first by 3cm while also qualifying for the national finals 👏👏.

U10 - Boys relay. Fiachra Shanahan, Aidan Downey, Fionn Ryan, and Oran Brosnan. 3rd in their heat and finished 5th place overall.💪

A big thank you to the parents and siblings for the support over the two days and making the long drive to Waterford!

Munster U12-14 Juvenile Athletics Track and Field Championships

Our juvenile athletes travelled to Nenagh on Saturday and Sunday to participate in the Munster U12-14 Athletics Track and Field Championships. We had 2 athletes competing over the weekend.

U13 Girls
Lauren Donnely competed in the 600m coming first in her heat in a time of 1:52 minutes. This is a 6 second Personal Best which saw her finishing just outside the medals. Lauren came 10th in the Long Jump in a highly competitive field which had 96 competitors.

U14 Boys
Cormac Kennedy competed in the 800m coming 3rd in a very strong heat. His time of 2:34 minutes was outside the medals but it was a 7 second improvement from his time at the Limerick County Championships and new Personal Best.

Excellent performances by these two athletes on the day who will gain invaluable experience from competing at this level. Thank you to the parents for making the journey and giving great support on the day.

Our juvenile athletes travelled to Nenagh on Sunday to participate in the highly competitive Pat Naughton memorial open games with counties from all over Munster and further afield competing. We had 10 athletes competing with excellent performances all round in track and field events on the day and 4 medals to go with these great performances.

U9 Boys
Oran Brosnan - 1st in the long Jump with a jump of 3.15m & 4th in the 300m in 57.52 seconds, narrowly missing the medals by .03 of a second

U10 Girls
Luca Prendiville put in some fantastic runs in the 60m making it all the way to final finishing 5th in 10.25 seconds. She also competed in the 500m.

U10 Boys
Fiachra Shanahan, 2nd in the Long-Jump with a leap of 3.66m and he also competed in the 60m
Fionn Ryan ran a superb 500m just finishing outside the medals in a time of 1:43 minutes . He also competed in 60m

U11 Boys
Harry Henihan - 2nd in the shot putt with a throw of 6.01m and he also competed in the 60m
Kevin Dowling - 5th in the Shot putt with a throw of 4.89m and he also competed in the 60m

U11 Girls
Ivy Redmond - 3rd place in Long Jump with a leap of 3.69m. She also competed in the 60m making it all the way to the final finishing fourth in 9.64 Seconds.
Laura Kennedy put in two massive performances, making it to the final of the 60m finishing 7th in 9.85 seconds and competed in Long-Jump getting a new PB of 3.51m
Saoirse Shanahan - finished 5th in the Long-Jump with a PB of 3.54m. She also participated in the 60m.
Saoirse Downey competed in the 60m and the LJ with PB's in both event.

An excellent day of athletics was had by all, and thank you to the parents for making the journey and giving such amazing support
