ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONS!!

History was made today for Naas Golf Club, because for the first time in the club’s 130 year history, we have won an All-Ireland Title!

Our fantastic Women’s Intermediate Foursomes team, led by Paula Murray and Helen Nugent, saw off the challenge of Cahir Park today in the final at Ennis - and did so in dramatic fashion.

Tied at two matches apiece, the match went to a playoff with the pairing Caroline Brogan and Louise Quinn holding their nerve and sealing victory.

The team will return to Naas Golf Club around 8pm this evening if supporters want to come along and celebrate!

Today is Day, and there’s no better time to recognise our amazing team, led by Head Greenkeeper Cialan Burke.

Cialan and the team are at the club long before most of us, getting the course ready for the day ahead. Early starts, long days, changing weather and plenty of hard work are simply part of the job.

So, Cialan, thank you for your leadership, and to the whole greenkeeping team, thank you for the pride, commitment and hard work you put in every day. Rain, wind or sunshine, you’re out there doing what needs to be done and making sure the course is ready for our members and visitors.

We’re very lucky to have you and your team.

Happy Day to Cialan and the whole team — and to greenkeepers everywhere who keep our courses looking and playing their best.
