Another Overload weekend! Well done to all our young players who came along and had fun at our 2026 Overload event.

On Saturday, our younger players played polo, and a took part in mix of on land and on water activities. On Sunday our older players played Polo for the day. Great to see so many beginners and younger players getting together, making friends and enjoying them selves.

Thanks to our Volunteers yet again for another event at Mullingar Harbour. After a long year running major events, like Mullingar Open, Junior Blitz, National Club Championships, Irish International Open and Overload, we're taking a break - Thank you all so much for your support, hard work and commitment to developing our sport.

Also thanks to Westmeath County Council for contributing to the costs of running our event.

Overload Registration Closing Today!

SAT 5th SEPT - One day event for younger players - beginners and Division 3, it will be a fun day with a mixture of on land and on water activities and games.

SUNDAY 6th SEPT - One day event for older players (under 21 and previous participants), it will be a lot of Polo Matches with players from multiple clubs, some competitive races and a few prizes.

And everyone gets a unique Tee-Shirt with never before seen surprise.

This is not a come-and-try event - you must be a Polo player with an Irish Canoe Polo club, with at least one season experience.

Overload! is our annual event for young Canoe Polo players in Ireland. This year we are keeping things simple, focusing on playing mainly Polo Matches for older players , and some fun drills and skills and activities for younger players.

And yes - registration includes the Overload 2026 Tee shirt kindly sponsored by Westmeath County Council.

The event is over two separate days, please select either Saturday 5th September, or Sunday 6th September based on your skill level.

Registration Options

'BEGINNERS & DIVISION 3- If you are a beginner or have played up to Division 3 level, please register for the one day on Saturday 5th September 10.30am - 3.30pm. Parents/guardians of children under 12 must stay at the venue during the event.

'DIVISION 2 and 1' - More experienced players, register for Sunday 6th September when we will get everyone together, make teams, and play some fun Canoe Polo matches. 10.00am - 4pm.

Cost to take part is €12. Register by Saturday 29th latest (earlier registration helpful), if you want a free Canoe Polo/Overload Tee Shirt.

Best of Luck to Ireland U21 teams taking part in the De Padel International Canoe Polo Tournament this weekend in Belgium.

Mullingar has 7 Athletes taking part on Ireland teams. Aine Heffernan, Ana Swanson Grainne Heap and Lara Heffernan on the U21 Womens team and Conor Joyce, Donnacha Flynn and James Garvey on the U21 Mens teams.

Separately we have another 14 Athletes representing Mullingar on Club teams at the same tournament.

Come and Try Canoe Polo ! We are running Come and Try Sessions for children aged 9 to 13 on Monday 27th July and Friday 31st July at 4pm.

Canoe polo is an exciting team sport, similar to basketball but played in Kayaks, and our club welcomes beginner children who are water confident and looking to try a new ball sport - you dont need any previous kayaking experience and we supply all equipment.
