Mullingar Golf Club- founded 1894 Located 3 miles south of Mullingar on the N52, one hour from Dublin . Green fees available all year Mullingar Golf club moved to its present location in 1937.

The famous James Braid designed this demanding 18 hole classic par 72 course with four par threes and four par fives, using the natural lie of the land, so to speak. It is set in a beautiful parkland location, with a fantastic variety of very old oak, beech, chestnut, lime and various other indigenous tree to the area. The course plays to 6685 yards from the championship tees, and the amateur cou

rse stands at 64, set by Gareth Shaw (Lurgan G.C.) when winning the Mullingar Scratch Trophy in 2005.Each hole has numerous tees to suit all levels of player. The venue plays annual host to the highly regarded Mullingar Scratch Trophy and, over the years, the cream of amateur talent throughout Ireland and Britain has each discovered the menace that lurks beyond the gentle opening hole. Winners of this event include the legendary Joe Carr, major winners Padraig Harrington, Darren Clarke and Rory McIlroy, twelve Walker Cup and a half a dozen Ryder Cup team members as well as uncountable International team players
The feature par three second at a little over 200 yards is probably still one of the best par three holes in the country, and was left largely untouched when the club decided to upgrade the course in the early noughties, work which included USGA standard greens and tees; strategic bunkering and the relocation of four greens, with respect and sympathy for the Braid design. This latter work was done to the design of renowned professional and designer David Jones. The open plan spacious clubhouse was built in the 1990s
