🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Another fantastic week for Moynalty AC! ❤️🖤

The weekend got off to a flying start on Friday evening as a strong Moynalty contingent made the trip to Trim's Porch Field for the ever-popular Braveheart 5k. A huge well done to Trim Athleticclub for hosting another superb and thoroughly enjoyable event. 👏

Saturday morning saw the Glenmore AC Challenge calling, with the "Glenmore Three" making the journey to North Louth to take on the testing hills. ⛰️ Marguerite and Oliver successfully conquered the Half Marathon distance, while Aidan put in a flying performance over the challenging 10-mile course. 💪

As always, Moynalty AC were represented at parkruns far and wide. Among those taking part was Helen, who enjoyed a spot of parkrun tourism at the Bushy parkrun in Dublin. 🌳🏃

A thirsty crew headed to Carrickmacross for the Old Carrick Mill 5k, where their efforts were rewarded not only with finisher's medals but also some well-earned post-race gin! 🏅🍸

Further west, Caroline travelled to Mayo to take on Gaelforce Westport and delivered an outstanding performance, taking the challenge in her stride and producing a superb result. 🚴🏃

Closer to home, several of the regulars enjoyed the familiar surroundings of the threshing field for the Saturday morning club run, while another group laced up for a special celebratory run around the roads of Bailieborough to mark a milestone birthday for Louise. 🎉🎂🏃‍♀️

📣 The Dublin Marathon Group has extended the 2026 official transfer window, giving more runners who missed out in the ballot a chance to secure a place through the transfer system.

The transfer period has been extended from just over one month in 2025 to more than two months for 2026, offering greater flexibility for participants.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Moynalty AC Weekly Round-Up 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

The weekend got off to a flying start on Friday evening as Oliver and Emma made the trip to Omeath for the scenic Long Woman’s 5K, taking in the stunning views of Carlingford Lough along the way. 🌊⛰️

Saturday morning brought another early start for Oliver, who was joined by Barney for the challenging Moylagh 50 Mile event. The lads took on the demanding route through Meath, Cavan and Westmeath, conquering every hill that came their way with impressive determination. 💪👏

Closer to home, there was another fantastic turnout at the Threshing Field for our weekly club run, while many of our members were also busy running and volunteering at parkruns across the country. 🏃‍♀️☕🙌

Our resident mermaids Elaine and Sandra headed west to Sligo, where they took part in the Mullaghmore 1K META Swim. 🌊🏊‍♀️ Fantastic effort from both ladies!

On Saturday evening, 11 Moynalty AC members lined out for the annual Patrick Bell 5K, hosted by Bohermeen AC. Brilliant performances all round and those post-race burgers were certainly well deserved! 🍔🏅👏

Sunday saw Aodhagan take on the mighty Hamburg Ironman and come out the other side victorious. 💪🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏊‍♂️ Be sure to check out our previous Facebook post for the full report.

The action continued on Monday evening as Angela and Noreen travelled to Dublin for the Howth Aquathon, with both athletes delivering excellent performances. 🌊🏃‍♀️👏

Back at the Threshing Field, John stepped in for the holidaying coach Paul and put the Monday night group through a tough but enjoyable session. Great work with the whistle, John! 👏📣

Huge congrats to our club member Aodhagan Fox who completed his FIRST 𝐈𝐑𝐎𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐍 (140.6 event) in 𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐁𝐔𝐑𝐆 at the weekend.. Super finishing Aodhagan (sub 12 hrs!!) and great times in all disciplines! The hard training and dedication paid off for one of the most difficult events universally that anyone takes on!! !

🔴⚫ Moynalty AC Weekly Round-Up ⚫🔴

The Bank Holiday weekend got off to the perfect start with a fantastic turnout at the Threshing Field on Saturday morning, followed by our club coffee morning in Mollys Moynalty ☕. A special presentation was made to Catherine ahead of her upcoming wedding 💍❤️. Everyone at Moynalty AC would like to wish Catherine and Tom the very best as they prepare for their big day.

Our members were also out in force at parkruns across the country, including Edwin Carolan Community, Deerpark Carlanstown, Porchfield and Riverside Ballymoney 🌳👏.

🚴‍♂️🏊‍♀️🏃‍♂️ The trio of Noreen, Enda and Niall headed to Kildare to take on TriAthy, delivering brilliant performances across all three disciplines.

Saturday evening saw PB bells ringing in Louth 🔔🔥 as Barney, Oliver, Ronnie and Angela flew around Dunleer Athleticclub’s inaugural 5k, with some superb times posted by the Moynalty quartet.

Oliver wasn’t finished there! He was back in the Wee County on Sunday morning alongside Trevor, taking part in Cuchulainn Cycling Club’s popular Tour of Louth event 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️.

Meanwhile, Mariusz travelled south to tackle the Cork Marathon 🏅 and returned home with a shiny new marathon PB. Huge congratulations, Mariusz! 👏🎉

The streets of Dublin were buzzing on Sunday as Emma, Gillien, Brid and Louise represented the club at the Women’s Mini Marathon 💜🏃‍♀️. A special mention goes to Louise, who produced a fantastic performance to finish 3rd in her age category 🥉👏.

Last but certainly not least, Mel travelled across the water to her hometown to compete in the Great Manchester Run 10k 🏃‍♀️, smashing her PB in the process. Fantastic running, Mel! 🎉🔥
