🏊♂️🚴♂️🏃♂️ TRIATHLON WEEKEND RACING!
What a weekend! Two days, two triathlons and two very different races. 💪
Saturday – Glin Triathlon
A beautiful day in Glin with perfect conditions for the 750m swim, 24km bike and 6km run.
🏊♂️ Swim — 13:15, out of the water in 7th
🚴♂️ Bike — 38:55 @ 22mph, moving into 4th
🏃♂️ Run — 26:03 for the hilly 6km
I managed to catch another athlete on the run and finished 3rd overall in 1:20:42 🥉
Only three of us broke 40 minutes on the bike, so I was delighted with that. The old-school mass-start format was brilliant too — proper racing where you know exactly where you are in the field!
Sunday – Cormac’s Turn!
Then it was down to Dungarvan and Clonea Beach for Cormac’s race.
At just 7 years old, he was racing in the 9–10 age category. The swim was unfortunately cancelled, so they had to do:
🏃♂️ 400m Run
🚴♂️ 4km Bike
🏃♂️ 1km Run
He absolutely flew on the bike, catching loads of people, but that final 1km was tough! He was really suffering but dug deep and got himself over that finish line.
Couldn’t have been prouder. ❤️
So, a pretty special weekend of racing — a podium for Dad on Saturday and a brilliant gutsy performance from Cormac on Sunday.
Two days. Two races. Plenty of pain… and plenty of smiles! ❤️💪
