Mothers and others isn’t just about football, it’s about fitness, it’s about trying new things, it’s about friendship and community. This year we ran the Rose 5km race as a team, many of our players having never ran in a race before. We’re so proud of all of our achievements this year, so much more to look forward to!

We had a brilliant time with the Kilcummin GAA Club mothers and others last night! Loads of laughs and a good bit of football. Looking forward to meeting them again soon.

We’d like to give a special thank you to Bernie Breen, former Kerry ladies superstar, for making the trek all the way to Mallow to coach us for the day. Without her we would have been running around like headless chickens. Can’t say thank you enough! Hope to see her in the Kingdom again soon! 💗💚🤍

💚🤍💗Saturday we had an incredible day in Mallow at the Munster Gaelic for mothers and others blitz. A bit of football, a lot of sunshine and a ton of craic. Couldn’t have asked for a better day out with our lovely ladies of Milltown-Castlemaine 💚🤍💗 thank you to all our supporters, teams we played and Mallow GAA for hosting.

🚨 Jack Duggan Festival Quiz Night 🚨

Castlemaine Events Committee are very pleased to announce the introduction of the first ever Jack Duggan Festival in Castlemaine Village which will be a three-day community event held from Friday, July 17th - Sunday July 19th 2026 that will celebrate the homeplace of Jack Duggan, “The Wild Colonial Boy”.

As part of our preparations leading up to this new and exciting festival for the local area, we will be holding a Table Quiz on Friday June 12th at 9:00pm in Griffins Bar & Restaurant Castlemaine to raise funds for the inaugural staging of the Jack Duggan Festival.

The Jack Duggan Festival will also be Officially Launched on Friday June 12th at the Table Quiz fundraiser.

A full and comprehensive festival schedule will be announced very soon with plenty of top quality music, fun and family entertainment guaranteed across the weekend and one not to be missed!!

Castlemaine Events Committee are now seeking your support in raising vital funds through the Jack Duggan Festival Table Quiz in 3 weeks time to make the weekend a massive success in our local area.

Tables of 4 are priced at €40 for the Table Quiz on Friday June 12th in Griffins Bar and Restaurant. A raffle will also be held on the night with some fantastic spot prizes on offer and complimentary finger food will be served to all those participating.

We are calling on all members of the local community and surrounding areas to come and join us as we bring this community festival to life, one that we envisage will be a massive boost for the village moving forward.

Please spread the news to all your friends and family and we look forward to seeing you all for our fundraiser on Friday June 12th at Griffins Bar and Restaurant Castlemaine.

We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated in and supported our pub quiz last week, as well as all of our fabulous sponsors for the prizes. An extra special thanks to Ashling at The Plough Bar for her donation of our first and second place prizes as well as her continued support of the Milltown-Castlemaine mothers and others team. We’ve raised everything we need for next weekend and couldn’t be more grateful for the community support!!

We are going to the Munster Blitz this year! We are hosting a pub quiz on May 29th to raise funds for our bus and other expenses for the day. Raffle tickets available at The Plough Bar and Willow Café in Milltown. Register your team at The Plough Bar, spaces are limited. Some great prizes to be won!
