Div2/3 T20 champs! 🏆🏆💪💪💪 🏏
Last Sunday was a great day for the club winning our 1st silverware in a long time.
We played Lismore 1s in the semi final, and sent them in on a tricky wicket. We bowled them out for 84 with a disciplined bowling performance and thanks to 45 runs from Fayaz we chased it with minimal fuss.
Onto the final, where we played Limerick Blasters 2nds, who defeated a strong Clare side (which contained a munster player 🤔) in their semi. We batted first on a deteriorating pitch, but our nerves were put to ease thanks to a magnificent opening partnership from Fayaz (46) and Raja King (52). Thereafter, we lost wickets at regular intervals as we tried to swing for the hills and finished on 148.
The Blasters got their chase off to rollicking start smashing 42 runs off their 1st three overs but up stepped Naveengoud Siddotam, who changed the course of the game with a match-winning spell (4-13). Thanks to Naveen, the momentum firmly swung in our favour, and we never looked back. Aided by some magnificent catches and accurate bowling, we went on to win by 55 runs.
Cue great celebrations from the team and supporters, and truth be told, some of us are still on a high!
