Brilliant result from the Connacht Community Games for the Mayo teams involved.

We are delighted to share this fantastic news from Turlough Towers. For the first time ever, both their boys and girls teams have won the Connacht Community Games badminton titles at the same games.

A huge well done to all involved. This is a superb achievement.

Both teams now go forward to the Community Games All Ireland finals on 24th May. We wish them every success.

Badminton Ireland’s Summer Teicnic Camps are back for 2026, with camps taking place across all four provinces. In Mayo, the camp will take place in Westport at Sacred Heart School from 4th to 7th August 2026.

The camp runs daily from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and is open to players aged 7 to 15. The cost is €90 and includes a Victor badminton t-shirt.

Sessions are delivered by qualified BWF coaches and are suitable for players who want to learn the game or improve their badminton skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Ballina opened with a match against GLTC before going on to secure a 5–2 win over Athlone, finishing as runners up in Grade G.

In the Grade F final, Crimlin Badminton Club faced a strong Cortoon Badminton Club side, finishing as runners up.

A big well done to all the juvenile players who took part in the Singles competition in Ballina last Saturday 👏

The standard of play, effort and sportsmanship on display was fantastic to see. It’s great to watch such young talent developing and enjoying their sport.

A big thank you to Ballina Badminton Club for hosting the tournament and to our Mayo committee members Anthony, Michael and Antoinette for keeping the show on the road. As well as all the volunteers who helped on the day.
