What a beautiful morning to be out on the bike Ballintubber Cycling Club Ollie Roache memorial event.

Ollie's daughter spoke reminding us that it is a blessing to be able to do the event.

Ballintubber also remembered Michael Kilcourse Snr who passed away on this event last year.

It was a great spin, sunshine blue skies and great hospitality.

🚴‍♀️Come along this June Bank Holiday Monday (1st June) for the Annual Brian Cawley, Patrick Mc Hale & Christine Irwin Memorial Leisure Charity Cycle – a great day out for all 🚴‍♀️

📍 Monday 1st June
📍 Ardagh Community Centre (Eircode F26 W521)
🕘 Registration from 8.30am
🚴 Cycle starts at 10am
☕ Refreshments and social gathering afterwards, you don’t have to cycle to call for a cup of tea a bun and a chat.

Choose from 2 scenic routes:
🔹 50km Route around the scenic Lough Conn taking in:
Ardagh – Crossmolina – Lahardane – Pontoon – Knockmore – Ardagh.

🔹 30km Route taking in:
Ardagh – Cloghans – Knockmore – Corroy – Garracloon – Ardagh

This year, the Club has chosen Ardagh Social Services as the beneficiary of the event. The money raised will help provide more opportunities for people to come together through community events, social activities and gatherings that promote inclusion, friendship and community spirit.

Everyone welcome – come along for a cycle, a chat and a great day out!

Following our recent event, our chairperson Paul Kilcourse with our Secretary Fiona Kelly presented a cheque to Peter Grealis, our vice chair and longtime member of the club, for €3,000.

In addition to this the club ran a challenge for the month of April for members to get out as often as they could. This raised an additional €280. Therefore in total our club raised €3,280 supporting Brenda Grealis following a life-altering PERM Stiff Person Syndrome Diagnosis.

We cannot thank each and every one of you that took part in our event, helped out, and provided the refreshments as well as our club members who took the challenge on, enough.

You all helped make a small difference to a family experiencing major life adjustments.
