👋 Overriding your negative thoughts with positive thinking can backfire big time.

Here is why and what to do instead 👇

Why it backfires? 🧨☄️🫣

Overriding negative thoughts with positive ones is like telling oneself: “You are wrong!” ❌ 😑

When someone says that to us we feel rejected. Why would you want to do that to yourself? 🫣😳

What to do instead? 👉

✅ Acknowledge your negative thoughts and accept them as your initial response
✅ Explore the polar opposite of those thoughts
✅ Look for evidence of how this opposite could be true, too

Now, you are more balanced in your actual response without the danger of a backfire. 🕊️

This works as much for positive thoughts that may make us believe we can fly when in fact we can’t. ✈️🦋🚀💥

It is easy to get pulled into the busyness. 💨⏳️
However, the number of emails received or sent hardly rewards with a feeling of accomplishment. 📧📧📧📪❌😳😞

2⃣️ Adjust what you focus on
3⃣️ Assess what worked and what hasn't
