After reading an article in UKHillwalking.com that hill walkers are already equipped with both the hard skills (used to trudging up hill on rough, uneven ground) and soft skills (navigation and a knowledge of what gear you need in the hills) to be fell runners.. I thought I'd give it a try..
The sense of achievement is amazing.. the down hills are fun.. the light pack is a pleasure to carry and most of all it's great to go back to being a beginner again and to learn to fine tune the skills needed to be good at it..
Is it time for you to learn something new or fine tune what you've already got..

What a way to burn off the Christmas meal .. a run up Slieve Binnian then a walk to Ben Crom Reservoir dam in the Silent Valley.. great to see so many people with the same plan out enjoying a crisp winters day
