πŸ’™πŸ’›There is no rest for our club members after Wednesday's Aquathon Series!

One group headed to Lanesboro for some swim trainingπŸŠβ€β™€οΈβ€”thanks to Jules Ledwith for a great session! As usual, it was followed by tea, biscuits, and plenty of rain.
Meanwhile, others went for an OW "cycle" πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ through the countryside roads. 50km+ distance is covered πŸ’ͺWell done, everyone! The rain can't stop us!

Week 2 of the midland Aquathon Series was on our home turf and what a super race it was.

We were thrilled to welcome over 110 triathletes to the event, all of whom delivered incredible performances. It was an absolute pleasure to host Week 2 and to welcome our friends and fellow athletes from Lanesboro Triathlon Club , Lough Key Triathlon Club , Athlone Triathlon Club , Midland Triathlon Club and surrounding clubs to the beautiful banks of the River Shannon.
The weather was on point, the swim was slightly bumpy but refreshing, and the run course was flat and fast, perfect conditions for some truly epic racing. Every athlete gave it their all, with some exciting photo finishes capping off an unforgettable evening. Congratulations and well done to everyone who crossed the line!
We would to thank a number of people, who without their help, dedication and time, the event would not have been possible. To our amazing clubmates, families, and friends who volunteered their time to marshal and support the event, thank you. You helped ensure a smooth and safe event for all involved.
Massive thanks to Lough Ree Orcas , County Longford Scuba Divers , Longford AC , Brendan Doyle Running , Civil Defence, our kayak and boat spotters and An Garda SΓochΓ‘na Longford who volunteered their time and provided amazing water safety support and assistance. We’re also incredibly grateful to our team of photographers for capturing all the special moments. And to those who brought snacks and baked treats, our taste buds (and waistlines) thank you! Special thanks to fellow clubmat Ciaran Nugent of Panelto Foods for providing the bread rolls.
Special thanks also to our very own race director Karl Grant for putting on another great event, Seamus Murtagh and Olaf Lally head of volunteers, Kate Sexton head registration and what a busy evening it turned out to be. Monster Timing made the evening run seamlessly. Thanks to Brendan Doyle , Madeline Doyle , Roisin Donohoe & Jules Ledwith for flawlessly leading the run, finish and swim. Thanks to our TI officials on the night, without whom the event wouldn't have run as smoothly as it did.
A massive congratulations to our club athletes who raced their hearts out in Tarmonbarry. Great to see both returning faces and newcomers giving it their all in both distances and some for the first time. Special mention to Caroline Casey , Damien Miney and Joe Donahoe on their podium finishes.
