🌟🌟🌟Dromard Camino Walk to Raise Funds for Lourdes Assisted Pilgrimage Fund on Saturday April 11th🌟🌟🌟

For this year's Dromard Camino Walk, which is been driven by Fr. P.J Hughes and supported by the local GAA club and the parish council in the North Longford parish of Dromard, the main focus will be to raise funds for the Lourdes Assisted Pilgrimage Fund.

The fund goes to bring sick pilgrims to Lourdes each year. This year the diocese is bringing 37 ill pilgrims on the pilgrimage. In recent years it has become a major challenge to raise enough funds to bring ill pilgrims and also to help with the costs of support staff.

It is really hoped that people will turn out in large numbers to support this extremely worthy cause, and at the same time enjoy a healthy walk and also enjoy the picturesque countryside of North Longford.

Walkers can choose to walk either 20km or 10km. Ideally people will book a place by visiting the website https://dromardcaminowalk.ie in advance, so that we can plan for facilities, medals, refreshments, etc, but if you are unable to do that, you can book your place on the morning of the walk. It's €50 euro to join the Camino, with this money going to an extremely worthy and needy cause. The walk begins at Dromard GAA club house at 8am.

What an achievement from our Committee member Michael OReilly and his sisters and extended family members who completed the 50 mile challenge yesterday Moylagh JFK 50 Mile Challenge, we have to give a special mention to Angela Madden who along with Michael and the family did it in memory of her beautiful son Colin. They have raised a staggering amount of money in aid of cancer and they should all be so proud of themselves 💙💛 well done to all who took part yesterday.

Dromard Camino Committee have decided to take a break for 2025 and consequently this years Camino will not be proceeding. The Committee are hoping to return to this great event in 2026 and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for everyones participation & support which helped make this event a great success for the past few years.
