What a fantastic day for the Kerry Boxing Awards yesterday held in Sliabh luachra boxing club Castleisland run by Kerry County Boxing Board.

Well done to our county & Munster champions who picked up awards and also Harry Lonergan winning most improved boxer for his tremendous efforts this season.

The club was delighted to pick up the club Recognition award for last season. Having moved into our new premises and hosting sparring days involving boxers and coaches from across the county and further afield, it was a great honour to be recognised for our continued support and contribution to boxing in Kerry. Something we will continue to do moving forward with the new season.

We had Oscar, Harry, Jamie, Tiernan and Charlie involved in brilliant exhibitions all 5 boxers getting great rounds and experience.

Well done to all boxers, clubs and coaches for coming together, taking part and making the day what it was. We are delighted to be part of a strong team 🥊

Trojan on tour! Let’s go Katie!! 🥊🥊

04/09/2026

The very best of luck to the legend that is Katie Taylor who boxes in her final farewell bout in Croke Park tomorrow night.

We were honoured to host Katie Taylor in Listowel in 2015 on her journey to the Rio 2016 Olympics. It was one of the major high lights of our clubs history and a night of boxing that will never be forgotten for our club.

Katie has paved the way for so many young athletes, our own including Niamh Ball, Philly Hickey & Jane Downey who were the first female athletes who boxed for Trojan BC who all went on to achieve in boxing. Katie is someone that these girls, and more, looked up to and were inspired by.

Katie you have inspired a nation and tomorrow night will see 80,000 people come out to celebrate your journey and support you in your farewell bout.

Trojan Boxing Club wishes Katie all the best tomorrow night🥊🥊
