Letterkenny Golf Club Ryder Cup gets underway
There was plenty of good golf, friendly rivalry and a bit of banter at Letterkenny Golf Club today as the inaugural Townies v Blow Ins Ryder Cup got underway.
Day one saw the doubles matches played in the Scotch Foursomes format, with both teams keen to get an early advantage ahead of tomorrow’s singles.
It was a closely fought day, with some excellent matches going right down to the wire. When the final scores were added up, it was the Blow Ins who took a narrow lead, 3½ points to 2½.
That leaves everything to play for tomorrow, when the singles matches will decide who takes the bragging rights.
The Blow Ins are captained by Ryan Ludick, while Chris Nee is leading the Townies. A big thanks to both Ryan and Chris for putting the work in behind the scenes to organise the event and get everyone involved. It has already made for a great day at the club.
With just one point separating the teams, tomorrow promises to be an exciting finish.
Blow Ins 3½ – Townies 2½
