Leinster absolutely knocked it out of the ball park again on Sunday at the Limerick festival of walking football 2026. This is Ireland’s largest walking football event. Organised by the Republic Of Ireland Walking Football Association as a Provincial and invitational Walking Football festival for men & women it took place on the 4th & 5th July 2026 at the University of Limerick. A total of 37 teams participated in 6 competitions catering for men’s and women’s teams. Incredible performances by all our squads. We finished the weekend as winners in the Men’s 60s and Ladies events. Beaten only on penalties in the finals of 70s and the 65s. Our 50s secured runners up with tremendous performances including holding the eventual winners to a scoreless draw. Leinster second Ladies side concluded their weekend with a very credible third spot in the women’s competition. Well done to all our 48 mens and 17 ladies players. Special kudos to those who stepped up to manage each squad. Hopefully no serious injuries albeit a lot of sore bodies. Thanks to everyone who supported us along the way.
