Leitrim Longswords is an Historical European Martial Arts club (HEMA). We originally started training back in 2008 as part of the EHCG (European Historical Combat Guild) in Cav
an - the first HEMA Club in Ireland. We specialize in the German Longsword tradition but regularly practice other styles of combat such as sword and buckler, basket hilted broadsword and other arts as and when available equipment allows. We are technically a stand alone club but are supported and supplied by the Irish study group of the European Historical Combat Guild. We are a small, informal group and still quite young but are always on the look out for enthusiastic people to join our ranks. We are usually train on Sundays from 11am to 1pm but we are currently on hold - awaiting restart after all the lockdowns. If you want to give it a go, feel free to contact us for more information.
