Our adventure races vary from mountain trails, forest runs, Atlantic swims and multidiscipline events - run - cycle - Kayak! Our flagship event is Gaelforce West (https://bit.ly/3RLiaXg) which was Irelands first ever Adventure Race. Gaelforce West is still running today as one of Ireland

's iconic races. Over the years we have brought many more adventure races to various locations around Ireland, including;

As Gaelforce Great Fjord Swim gets closer, we want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all our amazing event partners for helping us bring this event to life!

The Gaelforce Great Fjord Swim is back in Leenane this weekend!

This Saturday we’ll be hosting the 14th Great Fjord Swim here on Killary Fjord.

A little local heads-up that Killary Adventure Centre on the N59, Leenane and the surrounding area will be busier than usual this weekend, with swimmers, supporters and visitors arriving from all over Ireland and internationally for Ireland’s biggest open-water swimming event.

It’s also a brilliant spectacle to watch, so if you’re around, come down and enjoy the atmosphere!

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Leenane for another great weekend on the fjord.

There are still some spots left! Registration closes tomorrow for the 8km distance, and on 10 September 2026 for all other distances.

KAYAK SUPPORT NEEDED 🛶

Gaelforce Great Fjord Swim in Leenane is looking for kayak support on 12 September 2026.

€20 per hour cash, from 8am until approx. 3pm (please be ready from 7:30am).

You must be 17+ and a competent kayaker, preferably able to roll.
Own kayak preferred, although we do have some boats available.

‼️ Please read through the race PDF for your distance, as it contains important information you need to know for race day.

🅿️ Parking is LIMITED, so please carpool whenever possible! There is no parking at the start/finish line areas. Killary Adventure Centre parking is approximately 20 minutes from the finish line area. There will be plenty of marshals to direct you. For exact parking locations, please refer to your race PDF.

🎒Please get ready at your car and bring everything you will need to swim and change into afterwards.

👏Spectators are welcome at the finish line area. NO PARKING AT THE FINISH.
