Hard luck to our U17 team who lost out to Inagh/Kilnamona in Round 6 of the Championship in wet conditions in Inagh on Monday evening.

Inagh/Kilnamona made the better start and built an early lead, but Kilmaley grew into the game with Sam Switzer and Seánie Connellan accurate from frees, while Calum Hogan added two points from play.

Shane Cahill then found the corner of the net late in the half to bring Kilmaley right back into contention, leaving just two points between the sides at half-time, with Inagh/Kilnamona leading 1-11 to 1-9.

The lads continued to fight for every ball in the second half, with Sam Switzer adding further points from frees, but the hosts pulled clear in the final quarter as the game finished Kilmaley 1-13, Inagh/Kilnamona 1-25.

🔵⚪️ KILMALEY GAA VHS & DVD APPEAL 🔵⚪️

Kilmaley GAA Club is looking to collect old VHS tapes and DVDs of Kilmaley club and Clare intercounty games from over the years.

We are hoping to get our hands on as many recordings as possible, including:

🏑 Adult club games
🏑 Underage games
🏑 Schools games (Secondary & Primary)
🏑 Clare intercounty games
🏆 Championship games, finals and semi finals
📼 Any other Kilmaley or Clare GAA recordings you may have.

The aim is to collect, then digitise and upload these games to YouTube. Once converted, the games will be available to stream on Vintage Clare GAA YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/?si=fypPaMX6YT4PFehx

Our Intermediate team made it three wins from three in the Championship with an impressive 12-point victory over O’Callaghan’s Mills in Clooney on Sunday afternoon.

Kilmaley led 0-14 to 0-7 at half-time, having controlled much of the opening period. Cian Neylon was accurate from frees and open play, while Peter Ronan, Sean Ronan, James Murphy, Dylan Keane Hayes and Evan Cahill also contributed to a strong first-half scoring display.

Kilmaley continued to dominate after the restart, outscoring O’Callaghan’s Mills 1-9 to 0-2 during the third quarter. Cian Neylon found the net three minutes in and added a number of points, while Sean Ronan and Padraig Healy also chipped in with scores as Kilmaley extended their lead.

With ten minutes remaining the Mills found the net, but Kilmaley remained in control as Cian Neylon struck for his second goal with just over five minutes remaining, effectively putting the result beyond doubt.

O’Callaghan’s Mills added a few late scores, but Kilmaley finished strongly to secure a convincing 2-23 to 1-14 victory and maintain their 100% record after three rounds.

The win sets up a final group game against O’Gonnelloe next Sunday, with Kilmaley aiming to finish in top spot 👏

Our U14 team lost out to Crusheen/Tubber in Round 2 of the Championship in Crusheen on Sunday morning.

Crusheen/Tubber led 2-2 to 0-3 at half-time, with Liam McMahon accounting for all three of our scores.

The game opened up after the break, with Adam Marrinan finding the net and further scores from Adam, Liam McMahon and Conor Connellan. Liam added a second goal to make it a two point game, but Crusheen/Tubber responded with a goal to see out the game .

Hard luck to our Junior B team who lost out by a single point to Éire Óg in Round 3 of the Championship in Clareabbey on Saturday afternoon.

Kilmaley settled into the game after Éire Óg had taken the first two scores, with Kenneth Kennedy accurate from placed balls and two points from play for Enda Haren helping us into a 0-5 to 0-2 lead. However, Éire Óg responded with a goal midway through the half to level the game.

Diarmaid O’Ceallaigh got his name on the scoresheet, while James Doherty added a point from play as Kilmaley went into the break leading 0-9 to 1-5.

Kilmaley upped the tempo after the break, with Leo Switzer adding two points in quick succession, followed by a double from Diarmaid O’Ceallaigh while Enda Haren registered his third score of the afternoon as Kilmaley outscored Éire Óg by 0-5 to 0-1 to move five points clear ten minutes into the second half.

Éire Óg reduced the deficit with three points in a row and while the sides traded frees, Leo Switzer’s third point of the afternoon with five minutes remaining put Kilmaley two points ahead.

Moments later Éire Óg were awarded a penalty and converted it to move one point ahead with time almost up. The lads pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Éire Óg held on to take the points on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-16.

Our Junior D team made it two wins from two in with a five-point win over Ogonnelloe in Caherlohan on Friday evening. 👏🔵⚪️

There was little between the sides in the opening stages before Jamie Healy found the net after 10 minutes to put Kilmaley three points ahead, Ogonnelloe responded with 4 points on the spin to lead by one 8 minutes later.

From there Dylan Killeen was central to the Kilmaley scoring, converting placed balls including a penalty after Gareth Harvey was brought to ground inside the the area, while Michael Burke added his second point from play.

Ogonnelloe kept themselves in touch and found the net themselves before halftime, but Kilmaley went into the break with a narrow 2-6 to 1-8 lead.

Nathan Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half before two John Clohessy scores put us five point up midway through the half, as Dylan Killeen continued to punish Ogonnelloe from placed balls.

The lads finished strongly to secure a deserved 2-13 to 1-11 win, making it two wins from two and maintaining our perfect start to the championship.
